Re: Bluewings:Cologne-North America
German carrier Blue Wings was created in 02/2002 but started operations in summer 2003 with a single second-hand Airbus A.320 from LTU, soon joined by an ex-Swissair Airbus A.321 … and complemented in 04/2004 by another A.320 (ex TACA).Humberside wrote:From ch.aviation:

Blue Wings currently flies from its Dusseldorf-base to Turkish destinations on behalf of partner Öger Tours: Istanbul, Antalya and Samsun. One of the aircraft is also operated
in the Middle East, to destinations in Iran, Dubai, Sri Lanka and India. Moreover the carrier considers offering flights to the former Soviet Union.
In 11/2004 Blue Wings received its first 5-year-old Airbus A.330-200, previously operated by Swissair (HB-IQL) and Lufhtansa (D-AIMA). As a result the company was reportedly about to launch long-haul operations (probably the one you are referring to!)
On 27/12/2004 the A.330-200 had not gained her new registration D-AXEL yet : was still wearing the previous one and appeared to be stored.
