Some people are busy enjoying and replenishing their supplies while others lament for support, relif and yes help.

Wonder, If they are so near the disaster zone, what stops them from helping the affected areas or people!. Of is it that the Americans are choosy!
Aum Sweet Aum.

Sumatra (Indonesia): Muslim 88%
Malaysia: Muslim
South of Thailand: Muslim
Sri Lanka: Buddhist 70%, Hindu 15%, Christian 8%, Muslim 7%
India: Hindu 81.3%, Muslim 12%, Christian 2.3%, Sikh 1.9%, other groups including Buddhist, Jain, Parsi 2.5%
Burma: Buddhist 89%

Some areas hit by the tsunami, have a muslim majority of the population....
We will see if their muslim brothers will help them, and if they help other populations.

Tourists are supposed to be christians, they know what solidarity is.

Americans are very few in the area, and it is not of strategic importance to the US, anyway not in the energy supply. Its only on their sea routes.

American ships in the area are involved in transport of food supplies and sundries* for troops in Afghanistan, Gulf and Iraq.

Humanitarian relief operation began Tuesday, it would become the biggest relief effort the world has ever seen along Asia's monster earthquaked shores. The disaster could be the costliest in history.

*TV sets, handies, and all the stuff a GI needs when not on patrol...

Dear Fons,
I think the Americans read our post here, and action has followed

US Aircraft carrier was headed for Indonesia's tsunami-stricken Aceh province on Thursday to help with relief operations
