I just heard that baggage screeners at Newark Liberty International Airport spotted and then lost a fake bomb planted in luggage by a supervisor during a training exercise.
A baggage screening machine sounded the alarm, but workers somehow lost track of the bag, which was then loaded onto a Continental Airlines Amsterdam flight.
To top it the bag, containing a fake bomb complete with wires, a detonator and a clock, made it onto the Amsterdam-bound flight. It was recovered by airport security officials in Amsterdam when the flight landed several hours later.
Where is the world coming to, these days?
If the French goof, can Americans or Germans be far behind!

Germans too want to score a mark!
I hear that many people were given medical treatment overnight at Frankfurt airport, after inhaling gas.
Some 61 people were treated for breathing difficulties + eye irritation in the area around check-in counters at terminal one at around 20:00 yesterday.
Flights to South Africa, Finland, Chile & Berlin carrying around 800 passengers were delayed so that airport personnel could search luggage to determine whether the gas had been among the bags.
Wonder if this is a world excercise involving BAGS and AIRPORT SECURITY PERSONNEL
