Is Eilat Airport Closed?

A colleague of mine was stranded and their airline rescheduled time to fly as the reason they gave was that Eilat Airport is closed???????

What i remember is that Eilat airport has its southern end of the runway by only 300 metres from the Red Sea :? , while the 300 kilometre long Arava desert motorway branches off towards Tel Aviv directly at the northern end of the airport.

Sorry could not update earlier. The Israeli AirForce was conducting exercises hence the airspace was closed and restricted for a few hours.
