A leading local daily has reported that the Russian IL-62 aircraft accompanying Russian President Vladimir Putin's jet to Bangalore landed at the Chhattrapati Shivaji international airport (BOM)after its radar dome suffered a damage.
"The commander of the flight from Delhi decided to land at Mumbai after he suspected a bird hit to radome (radar dome) at 21,000 feet. There were 60 passengers on board in the flight which landed here at 4:40 pm IST and they continued their flight to Delhi and Bangalore by an Indian Airlines flight.
The aircraft has been grounded and a technical team is carrying out the necessary repairs.
So it was not PUTIN's jet, but the aircraft accompanying it.

I hope we also remember NOVEMBER 12th, 1996 very near New Delhi, India: shortly after takeoff, Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 747 collided in midair with Kazak Airlines Ilyushin 76 plane approaching the New Delhi airport. All 349 passengers and crew were killed.
I believe this was one of the world's worst midair collision.

Do not call Kazaks birds, Advisor. They are horseman, (not so) efficient with Il76's.Advisor wrote:Saudi Arabian Airlines Boeing 747 collided in midair with Kazak Airlines Ilyushin 76 plane approaching the New Delhi airport.

I wonder if Putin still is an airline lover -like we all do:

Well, a few weeks ago (or was it last week?) he had a delay when flying to Holland, as his plane couldn't land due to fog.LX-LGX wrote:I wonder if Putin still is an airline lover -like we all do:

I remember that crash in india. Was it not a Uzbekistan chartered plane? Or was that another accident in India? I do rememeber a very strange statement about that plane laying on its back: aircraft manufaturer engineers will travel to the crash scene to investigate if they will be able to put the plane again in the air.
Not good, brothers, not good.
