Suggestions for new links include Yahoo/Google News links
for "bush fire" and "forest fire" in addition to wildfire.

Added treat: old IL-76 vs C-130 firefightng airplane piece from one of the world's nicest websites:

The main aviation man at the US Forest
Circus is Tom Harbour.

He speaks!

Hello

Wooow!!! 8) 8) 8) cool idea. Looks like that IL-76 is good for
any terrain (even can take-off on ice/snow 8O )

Must be a great plane for that job, more capacity for water.

Thank you, luchtzak.

Yes - that was a heavily populated thread alright. :D

There's a perception a 747/Il-76 competition is
brewing.

I'm not so sure that view is shared by people in the know.

Here's a piece from the 747's home town media on that compeition:

I've posted the annotated version from FireGlobe, in Freiburg,
Germany, as there were some pretty fundamental errors:

Trial by Fire:

[The "Rebuttal" directly linked through FireGlobe annotation is now only available by going to waterbomber.com's links page.]

Bring 'em on :!: :)
