Thai Airways on Wednesday said its net profit for the year ended September 30 was slightly above the 12.45 billion baht (USD$305 million) made a year earlier but lower than target due to foreign exchange losses and higher oil prices.
"We have missed our target and had some forex losses," chairman Thanong Bidaya said, referring to the 20 billion baht operating profit target for the year.
Thai made a net profit of 8.8 billion baht in the first nine months of the 2003/04 year and is due to report the full-year result by the end of this month.
Its financial year runs from October 1 to September 30.
