Hi Humberside,

As far as I know, Ghana is bankrupt since August 2004 and all flights are suspended.

Heard some rumours though that they should take up service again soon with Flyjet B757-200's. But only rumours !

Regards, Robin Bamps.

Ghana Airways had one serviceable DC10 which developed technical problems on August 4. Thereafter a 757 was leased to pick-up stranded pax. Since August 11 a B767 of Air Zimbabwe does the three weekly schedule between Accra & London for Ghana Airways.

It seems that the government of Ghana has reached an agreement with Ghana International Airways (a US-based consortium) to assume management control over Ghana Airways. GIA would bring experience, skills management, technical know how and... equipment in the form of B737-200, B757, B767 to start international services and turboprops + Canadair regional jets for internal services.

Barely alive, we'll see what happens.

Not for Africa... i guess ;), but in this case they are talking about 737 classics so the versions 300-400-500 could indeed be included.
