Chris, three questions:

What about luggage space in the F100? One tourist = one suit case.

And what about cabin luggage space ? Tourists are tax free shoppers.

And would a 737-200 not be better for TUI Belgium? Their whole system is adapted to 737-series.

Way too expensive, noisy and old.

hello folks!

Great new planes!

I don't really agree that the F100 isn't a good charter plane.
Because on TUB's Spanish routes like; Jerez,Alicanté,Gerona,....
the F100 would be excellent to operate on that routes.

And they are expanding.

They even bought a new B737(300/400?) from Islandsflüg.
And by the way, were stays the TUB 763??????

He should be flying yet for a long time.

Best regards: Yannick

Hi Yannick,

The blue Islandflug-plane is ex SLR, no new plane for TUB.

I would suggest TUB to lease some B736's (fits better in their fleet).

Hi;

Then I would rather go for a 737-700 because I really don't know any charter company that flies a 736...

Tunisair and Lauda Air for example, they operate a lot of charter flights with B736's !

If TUB searches a 100-seater, a B736 fits better than a 737-700. And because TUB is operating all Boeing currently (B734/8, and soon the first B763)...

Just my 2 cents.

Huh?

I don't want to act like a know-it-all or anything like that, but please allow me to ask that, from now on, everybody starts THINKING TWICE before posting?

It's false information like 'TUI has bought an Islandsflug B734' and representing what you think as a fact (like: the F100 'IS' excellent on routes like xxx) that downgrades the quality of this forum so much.

Thanks for your cooperation.

I couldn't agree more with you Frederic.

It's not because we aren't specialists that we may not make some assumptions. But let's not pretend with our messages that we know exactly how it is.

It might seem more logic for them to take some B737 due to fleet commonality, BUT there are many other factors which play a role in the decision of leasing a new type of plane. And since we don't know all of them we should not pretend that one or another plane is THE BEST for their operations.

That's correct, Chris.

Assumptions are OK, as long as they are not represented as facts.

Hello all.

:? I'm sorry about former things i said, but it was certainly not
the intention to CONFIRM that they had BOUGHT a new plane,
or OHTER reasons why the F100 would be good.

Fact; I just saw i 734 in blue colors with islandsflug tail, kind
a logical that i thought it was a new plane.Aldo it looks now
that it isn't...bit i don't know sure...it could be another...aldo
i think there want be a lot of people believing me.
Just...by my knowing he had no titles...anyway...i was maybe
a little to fast to say about that.So....no big deal anymore,...your
right.

Fact 2; That about the F100,...was against those who think the
capacity whetter the range of the plane wasn't good enough.
I was just trying to tell them that the F100 can operate within
the distance of ;...Alicanté,Gerona,Jerez....NO OTHER INTENTIONS
...so....i don't know whats wrong with that.

Anyway ...i'm sorry....and i respect everyone's opinion.

TUI Airlines Belgium decided today to extend the fleet with a fokker 100. The fokker 100 will be integrated in a fleet of 7 Boeings 737 and 767. The new aircraft will be used as from the summerseason 2005 (as from Easter 2005). The fokker 100-operation creates 25 new jobs.

For me it doens't realy matter what plane they take (however I do have a little more joy on a 737-800 then a Fokker 100 :D ) , as long as they make smart choises, no problem for me! Great they will create 25 jobs :!:

Bad move ?

Post by FlightSimCrew »

Bad news for SN Brussels Airlines they can look for another lucrative business next summer as TUI would probably not offer them the same charter contract as this year as they'll have their own lower capacity jets.

Also bad news maybe for Virgin Express as TUI might be aiminig for scheduled services to smaller "leisure cities" as Nice, Barcelona, Madrid,... just hypthetical but anyway...

F100 is very cheap to acquire but has very high dispatch UNreliability... I think it is just a very stupid move of TUI.. working with mixed fleets, no maintenance base of Fokker around (SN TEchnics is great for Boeing), and adding again more seats in the overcrowded Brussels market...
TUI/FQ/SN/TV/VLM.... how many more home carrier will we have ?

SN and VEX has shown a good business sense by combining forces, time than TUI and FQ sell their aircraft and buy seats on SN/TV again... just look at TRansavia/Basiq Air in the Netherlands, that airline is supported by all dutch travel agents and is making tons of money... why cant we do the same in Belgium ?

At least they don't try to squeeze 110 seats in that aircraft, like BA in their Avro RJ100.
