Maybe POBEDA should consider also flights to/fm Saint-Petersburg?
That is more an Antwerp destination than Ostend :) I heard one can even have the famous Antwerp Bolleke (De Koninck) beer in SPB ... on draught! Unfortunately, Pobeda only operate B737s, too big for the Antwerp runway.
Aeroflot with one of their SSJ 100's ?

I think the same as well, but they need to find the real markets, except TUI fly, with Pobeda for example, giving good results, as far as we know.

First flight to OST was completly full, but we need to be sure about plans of the future airlines to land there...

Cher Thibault, some people might have their reservations about you and your postings, but their volume is beyond all reproach. There is not a single reason for you to duplicate them ;)

Well, apparently the first 11 Pobeda-rotations from/to Moscow accounted for some 3300 passengers at OST. Not a bad start for this new route , I would say 8-) ... Curious what the future will bring. :) As said before,Pobeda should be thinking of a OST-Saint-Petersburg route aswell.

I hope that the good results with POBEDA will open the eyes of other companies.

A link(or several links) with the UK should be the main target now.

Eurowings could bring in the German tourists but that won't be allowed by Lufthansa.
Perhaps they are lucky that Mr Buelens loathe Ryanair.

But he cannot prevent Ryanair from landing at OST if Michael O'Leary wants it!

It's not about passengers only. Voka and the airport have established an Airport Council (Luchthavenraad) that will focus on 4 targets: cargo, passengers, general aviation and drones:
https://www.voka.be/nieuws/nieuwe-lucht ... nde-brugge

No but Mr O'Leary has to pay the fee that Mr Buelens want!
NO Ryanair discount, so far MOL says we are in negociations.
If there is no pricedrop , Ryanair won't land.

But if MOL wants to he could open a base at OST, serve Alicante, Mallorca, Tenerife and drive TUI out of OST.
Then close the base... :|

On Sunday afternoon, a forgotten (or dumped) bag with laundry and "toiletries" has caused evacuation of the arrivals hall:

Interesting article in hangarflying on n Pobeda at Ostend airport.

'Pobeda brings travelangry Russians to Flanders'.

https://www.hangarflying.eu/2019/04/pob ... laanderen/

Flights are popular. especially with Russians willing to visit cities of Bruges,Ghent,...
Belgians still have to discover the flights to Moscow.
But route already well known with Russians living in Belgium.
OST-airport thinks(hopes)Pobeda will have to increase frequency of flights due to interesting demand and
high loadfactor sofar. Many flights are full and LF is said to be above 80%. Not bad for a new route... 8-)

With the pending Brexit and all confusion around it, I don't think it's the right time to start new routes to/from the UK...

Traffic April 2019;

Freight down by -24.7% compared with April 2018

Pax up by +19.6% compared with April 2018

Comment:
As for the freight as usual it was mainly Egyptair who used the airport. No Kalitta nor Aerotranscargo...
Thanks to Pobeda, the loss of the BCN route(-2500 pax) can't be seen in the figures.
