A good remark, @crew1990, but perhaps a bit premature? Sonaca and CRL/EBCI have long been synonyms, even if some diversification seems to be under way now.

And if you'll excuse the nitpicking, "QMN" is not mentioned as a valid "destination code" at http://www.iata.org/publications/Pages/code-search.aspx , though it may have been at one time.

Sonaca and CRL are well linked, but the Sonaca 200 is the little baby of Sonaca Aircraft, with is actually a subsidiary company of Sonaca. Sonaca will still be based in CRL, but Sonaca Aircraft will be Namur.

Indeed you are right, I found this IATA code on the french wiki page but I didn't found it anywhere else so I guess that Namur doesn't have any (anymore?)

[[ off topic ]] Best get your info from as close to the source as you can - in this case the IATA website. Many people are eager to add or improve information at one moment, few keep it up afterwards.
On top of that, IATA are slow themselves. The website I mentioned still gives a code for Sines airfield in Portugal, even though that has completely disappeared, its site has become an industrial estate. Galway airport is another example.

Sonaca 200 would be more something to put in a new topic called "2018 Namur-Suarlee Airport (QMN/EBNM) latest news" don't you think?
People refer to that airport as Temploux, not Suarlee...but yes, a specific topic would be appropriate, I read somewhere that they are going to build a concrete runway...next step might be an ILS...😂

French speaking people indeed refer as "Aérodrome de Namur" or "Aérodrome de Temploux" but in English it's "Namur-Suarlee Airport" at least on the wiki page, I can't find the real English denomination as the website is only in French

Hm. Hm hm. It does show they are aware there is some kind of issue, that's an excellent start. And perhaps they looked abroad to see what others are doing - Norway seems to be very active in the implementation of "remote towers". Good!

But if EBCI tower already lacks the capacity to deal with the present volume of traffic, what will remote towering help? The idea behind "remote towers" is economy of scale, avoiding (expensive!) controllers spending their time idly. Norway has some little-used aerodromes that do need a controller in place, so a central pool of two or three people controlling ten or fifteen airports will bring a substantial cost reduction. In the case of Charleroi - and Liège - I cannot see any gain.

Still, they are thinking at Belgocontrol, that's a major progress.

PS I can see how a control tower operation can be "remote" - but how can it be "digital"?

How often does an airport have a backup tower ?
Or is it the v1 of wallocontrol, centralized ?

In a Air Corsica leaflet, I noticed Air Corsica will fly to Charleroi at least 1x/week from Ajaccio and Bastia until 5 and 6 January 2019, and no more until November 2018 as an announced by Hervé Pierret in an interview in September 2017...! What a good news :P

We can also expect as from March 2019 all-year round flights !
