Next winter season, Eurowings will replace Brussels Airlines on 2 of the 5 TXL-BRU rotations

Post by airbuske »

As from winter season Eurowings will operate 2 rotations on TXL-BRU. Current SN2581/2588/2591/2592 rotations.

Brussels Airlines will increase its flights to FCO , will continue to fly to BOD with 5 weekly flights and will fly the SN2065/SN2066 with A319.
Best regards,

Looks like the switchover started
Though I would guess these do not have many connections to other SN flights atm

Mark 28 July 2017 as the official starting date of the Eurowings take-over. They even dropped the business class!!!

It's a win win for both airlines and a good synergy for the Eurowings Group.

Who cares about business class service on a 1HR intra European flight... as long as the service outside the aircraft is guaranteed (lounge access, priority check-in, flexibility...).

Which is no

For other *A passengers, you don't get the same on EW as what you normally get on SN

That's a serious downgrade.

If with SAS Gold (example) you can't get lounge access anymore, it is.
Then why pick Eurowings if you can just take Ryanair?

Does this mean that 2 flights will be operated by EW and 3 flights by SN. And that the usual airbus A319/320 can be reoriented to another destination? FCO or BOD for exemple ?

It isn't...

I get it now: BEST is the Eurowings business class with free lounge access, fastlane and seperate check-in.

Lufthansa stated very clear where SN will be positioned within the LH Group. LH is evaluating SN's product offer in relation to its production. LH sees the benefit of adding EW product/capacity to SN's production: 1) to lower the costs, 2) to better meet customer's demand and 3) optimising fleet utilisation.

As a result of this, SN has additional capacity that allows them to expand production elsewhere. If LH/SN sees the potential to serve (more) premium pax and/or (more) pax willing to pay more for a ticket, why should they hold on to something and miss out on revenue? If this rumour happens to be true, this sounds to me like a healthy and smart way of business development.

I don t think HAM Will follow as it is a high yielding business route, very different from Berlin which is more a leisure route.

major issue is for those with Star Alliance Gold cards not flying business / BEST : lounge, fast tracks, etc. are granted on SN in any class (travel policy means eco for such short flights), not on EW... used to be very loyal, often paying reasonably more to fly *A, also on private trips, but since Im getting less and less with such tricks, other airlines get my business more and more.

Exactly. It might be a small bunch, but as one might guess a bunch that makes lots of trips
And to them, this does matter (a lot).

Add that Miles&More as a *A program is not the best out there, SAS Eurobonus and others are more rewarding

An interesting comment from the Luchtzak Facebook page:
Der Untergang... Very sad to see our legacy carrier absorbed into the low cost. I booked with Eurowings for a recent return from Tegel to Brussels (via Stuttgart, of course) thinking I'm not doing anything stupid; after all, it's all Lufthansa Group and from previous experiences, I know that if anything goes wrong with the flight I just get rebooked on any other Lufthansa Group connection. The flight was cancelled and I learned the hard way that Eurowings bookings have nothing to do with the rest of the group. The only thing they offer (aside from putting you on the first available flight a few days later) is advice to go and buy yourself a new ticket from another airline and pray for reimbursement...
