Re: TUI fly Belgium in 2018

I'm not trying to downplay anything, I'm just trying to remind everyone that there are two (or even more) sides to a story.
The side we've seen in the newspaper/website may be true, but it may as well have been grossly overstated, or somewhere in between.
Knowing my former colleagues, I find it quite hard to believe they would depart if the passengers blocking the seats refused to move, and the passengers who would have the right to those seats didn't agree to sit somewhere else. Your mileage may vary, but if this type of stuff happened during boarding, we wouldn't close the doors before it was resolved.
Of course, your mileage may vary.

Everyone knows there are often several versions of the same story. But apparently TUI didn't deny the facts.
Difficult as it may be, you need to learn that even your colleagues can eventually make a fault.

What's the meaning of that sentence, please?

I don’t have any problem acknowledging my former colleagues are capable of making faults, that’s exactly what my last sentence tells you.

Bralo20 wrote: 30 Jan 2018, 15:27 Looking at the pics on the frontpage, is that size of toilet normal? Doesn't seem very comfortable to me, it's soo tiny... Let alone that you can join the mile high club in that space
According to articles and reviews it seems one of the most heard complaints of passengers and crew on the 737MAX, despite Boeing's claim of increased passenger comfort...not if you need to go
Tiny toilets on B737 MAX cause complaints
American Airlines flight attendants complain about the tiny bathrooms on the 737 MAX
In its defence...can't imagine they're smaller than toilets on Avro or Embraer, etc...or are they?
The front lavatory should still be standard size

TUI Group CEO Fritz Joussen said the carrier plans to own 50% of its planes in the long term, rather than leasing them, after it strengthened its balance sheet. TUI has 70 B737 MAXs on order, due to be delivered over the next five years.

TUI fly Belgium would lease on top of the 3 A320 (mentioned on this website earlier) also 2 A320, 1 B737 and an unspecified aircraft this summerseason?
Source
If the info is correct would be 35 aircraft this summer + any extra 737MAX8 or B787 arriving maybe?

It seems TUI will be recruiting again for the MPL-program, but this time offering 2 trajectories.
Traject 1:
Integrated MPL-training (18months) , cost €50 000, guaranteed 24 months employment.
Traject 2:
Same as last year, 39 months, MPL combined with working in the office, same €30 000 and 24 months of employment.

Thoughts?

It’s 24 months employment in a three year period, so you will be unemployed for 12 months as well.
As an MPL you can’t work for another company as your licence is restricted.
I do not recommend these TUI schemes, there are plenty of MPL schemes around which will give you full time employment after graduation.

Unique in Belgium, the pilot academy launched by TUI fly a year ago allows more young people to fulfil their dream of becoming a pilot without the budget being a drag. Today, the Belgian airline offers two training programmes to become first officer, one after 18 months, the other after 39 months. Read more @ https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/tui-f ... rogrammes/

I read on Facebook that OO-JNL had a longer flight time above the Atlantic Ocean, the reason I discovered today: https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/tui-f ... tic-ocean/

TUIfly Nordic (Sweden) took delivery of one new B737 MAX 8, serial 44589. The delivery flight was powered by renewable fuels.

By the end of 2018, a total of nine B737 MAX 8s will be delivered to the airlines of TUI Group. These aircraft will be operated by TUI in Belgium, Sweden, the UK and the Netherlands. The first B737 MAX for TUI fly Germany is scheduled to be delivered in early 2019.

TB-304 JAF-304 from Punta Cana to BRU Brussels (OO-JDL 787 Dreamliner) diverted to LGG Liège this morning.
Though without any attempt to land at BRU:

Seems like the same reason mentioned in BRU 15/03/2018:
RWY 19 Single OPS at BRU, while 25L/25R was foreseen, causing quite a lot of delay, prompting aircraft not yet inbound for BRU to divert to other places.
