Don't forget the plans for a detour of the coastal tram via the airport.
Well, the management will ask Mr Weyts for such a detour.

An English version was not available on the Ostend-Bruges airport website, in my opinion that would help attracting foreign investors and airlines/cargo carriers...

Well, here is the English translation (thanks Ivan)

There are also talks with Global lift to have a maintenance base at EBOS.

Does anyone know what the progress is of Global lift?
The only info I found was a set up in the winter of 2016-2017 with a fleet of 747's.
But isn't this the type of planes that aren't very welcome at BRU due to the noise regulation...

Would seem more logical to operate from OST if you already have a maintenance hangar...

Indeed a good question on the progress of Global Lift. Is there a thread on this topic on the forum?

The new departure terminal will open on 31/03/2017.
It will feature a duty free shop and a self service bistro.

Randstad will provide the staff for Erasmus catering.

Excellent news for BRU.

Regarding the noise regulation, OST will NOT approach any airline wishing the leave BRU.
In fact, they aren't active looking for new customers. The customer will come to them...

If a airline feels like operating from OST well they can contact the airport.

No doubt many airlines will come to OST or ANR for the lovely eyes of Mrs Stuyck or Mr Buelens..--))

EGIS in Paris is in coma...

The number of destinations from EBOS is raising to 21 this summer.
TUI will be flying from OST to Enfidha NBE every Wednesday in July and August 2017.

The renewed departure lounge is open as from today.

The security check area is capable of taking 3 lanes instead of 1 in the past.
Passengers can still have a drink or a meal in the Belair before check in but now they are also able to have a meal, drink or snack after the security check.
In the past there were only vending machines with drinks and sweets.
A tax free shop and bookstore is to open this summer.

A further refurb of the terminal building is on its way.
So far new signs have been added.

I hope this route to the UK actually comes to fruition. Hopefully it will include a connection to Scotland. I have stopped going to Oostende from Ayrshire in Scotland because not only is it too difficult to get to (two planes and two trains) but every time I go something always goes wrong - train staff go on strike and everyone gets forced to leave the train and expected to make their own way from where the train stops to their final destination, or I get put on the wrong train by train staff, or the airport gets bombed. If there is ever an easier way to get to Oostende I will definately be back.

Renewed website : www.ostendairport.aero
Where's the info for private pilots considering a visit? Operating hours? Fuel availability? Landing fees? Credit card acceptance? Mandatory handling? &c &c Some of that can be found, but a single web page showing all of it together would be a sign of welcome.

Looks like private planes are not really welcome, or at least not the prime target audience

(same goes for the EBAW website, similarly renewed)
