DL31 (Boeing 767-300ER reg. N1608) eventually returned to London Heathrow and was cancelled.
But the continuation of the flight DL31, Atlanta-Dallas Fort Worth, remains scheduled, operated by an MD-88.
Ah, those misleading flight numbers making you think that the whole flight is operated by the same aircraft...

Royal Air Maroc flight AT621 from Amsterdam to Al Hoceima (operated by EuroAtlantic B738 CS-TQU) diverted to Tanger due to bad weather. After two circles around Al Hoceima the captain made the decision to fly to Tangier airport.

What will happen with those passengers is for anyone unknown (RAM is not a good PR company).

Information received from Jilal.

Yes, and indeed there were more diversions from AMS to BRU due to the fog. See a list in our spotting forum: https://www.aviation24.be/forums/viewtopic ... 21&t=62000

Yesterday, at about 21HUTC, a passenger of the flight TK161 (MRU-IST) passed away when overfying Ethiopia. The cabin crew and one or two doctor(s) (passengers) tried to reanimate him for about one hour without success. When it happend, the a333 was 300-400 km from Addis Abbeba. No medical diversion (Why?).
I was on that flight, and I can't imagine a man can die in such indifference.
Some passengers, just took a quick look and continue to watch a movie or play games on the IFE.
I'm upset.

A diversion is not needed when there is nothing the people on the ground at the diversion airport can do. Of course, it can hurt the feelings of people, but I think that this is normal procedure.

On the other hand, the indifference of many passengers is quite unacceptable. But this is becoming very common nowadays... :(

May he or she rest in piece.

Being married to a cardiologist... and having been woken up two times during a flight (no diversions necessary)... there's a lot of elements that influence the decision to divert or not:

- is it beneficial for the patient?
- how far is the diversion airport?
- is there a hospital near the diversion airport that can handle the situation? E.G. In African skies, for certain heart conditions it's either Cape Town or Cairo with nothing in between.
- ...

Cheers,

Stij

About 10 years ago I was on a diverted flight, one of the passengers suffered from a stroke! One of the other passengers was very upset with the delay as they would miss their museum visit in Amsterdam.... I will never forget that!
