Delta Air Lines flight #DL161 (Airbus A330-300 to Minneapolis St Paul) outbound Amsterdam just made a small detour after departure following a call of smoke in the cabin.

My source tells me there was a very strong smell of asphalt inside the cabin. It dissappated after a minute, hence the crew continued to Minneapolis.

Saturday almost all flights diverted away from ACE (Lanzarote) because of gusts up to 42 knots. Amongst the few aircraft who landed 2 flights from BRU (JAF + TCW): well done by these pilots!

Two or three years ago, the situation was the opposite: many flights were able to land at ACE, but the Jetairfly pilot of the plane in which I was didn't manage despite two attempts and diverted to Fuerteventura where I spent the night.

Between 16h and 19h45/20h, all flights to TFS Tenerife had to divert or were cancelled.

Including TUI Belgium's TB-2113 (OO-JAQ), which diverted to Faro (Portugal).

Through a private message of Ali Chhaib (whom we thank for contacting us), we learned indeed that TFS Tenerife South was closed due to a damaged Jet2.com A330 aircraft on the runway. 24 flights have been divefrted, including OO-JAQ.
