On 26th October 2017, this article appeared on the homepage:
"Final report of DHL Boeing 757 that lost a part after take-off from Liège airport"
https://www.aviation24.be/airlines/dhl/f ... e-airport/

The Avherald.com has now established that it wasn't a flight from Liege to Berlin Tegel, but from Brussels Airport to Leizig:

Hi

Anyone know why the RwandAir flight of this evening (02 Nov for people who will read my message on 03Nov) is canceled ?

Thanks

EDIT: it seems that the aircraft is at Gatwick.

EDIT 2: FR24 & Flightaware shows that the flight departed from Gatwick, directly to Kigali https://www.flightradar24.com/data/airc ... wn#f68ef11 & https://fr.flightaware.com/live/flight/RWD701

I guess there were no passengers from BRU to KGL, or all of these passengers had the right to land in the UK.

...On 5th November 2017, a Sky Gates Airlines Boeing 747-400 from Novosibirsk (Russia) to Maastricht (Netherlands) with 2 crew, was on approach to Maastricht's runway 21 (length 2750 meters/9020 feet) when the crew selected the flaps to 25 degrees, the flaps however stopped at 17 degrees. The crew initiated a go around and diverted to their alternate Liege (Belgium), where the aircraft landed safely on runway 23L (length 3690 meters/12100 feet) at a higher than normal speed about 30 minutes later...

And meanwhile already in Brussels, after a 60-75 min stop in Munich, so most probably a medical diversion.

Just over 24 hours delay for 117 passengers on Friday's TUIfly TB-5714 TFS-OST Tenerife-Ostend (OO-JAF).
https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/tb5714

At this very moment, OO-JAF (JAF6YG) is flying between Nantes and Paris.

Wow! 24 hours additional holidays at the cost of TUI for those 117 vacationers. And perhaps even a premium of 250 euros.

When a touroperator has to find a hotel in Tenerife at the end of November, they don't ask "can you accommodate us?", but "we are willing to pay .. Euro for DBB plus soft drinks during dinner. Do you accept this?" I don't know in which hotel the passengers were accommodated, but I would guess the Riu Palace - part of TUI Group.

Regarding the premium: apparently the technical failure was discovered with pax already onboard: there's a press report, stating they had already boarded on Friday noon. So it could be seen as extrordinary circumstance.

Should TUI had to send over an empty aircraft to Tenerife, to limit the delay? 261/2004 says "...even though all reasonable measures had been taken by the air carrier concerned to avoid the delays or cancellations..." Is it a reasonable measure to send over an empty 737 from Brussels to Tenerife?
