BIAC has nothing to do with Ostend.
Indeed, sorry, BIAC controlled the airport for only 5 months.

> The Belgian radio annouced today that MK Airlines [MKA] is to move its HQ to Ostend Airport.

Was it clear when exactly this move will take place?
Perhaps the move has immediate effect.
Teletekst mentioned 3 MK arrivals at OST today!
11:13 MKA 118 Benghazi
13:38 MKA 801 Zaragoza
17:23 MKA 2284 Cairo

Could there be an impact on the MK flights (for ALX) out of BRU?
It is remarkable that MK has operations into OST, BRU and LUX, all 3 located on a somewhat horizontal axis of about 350 km.

Hi everybody.
And yes B.I.A.C was managing the airport of Oostende but I don't now if its stll the true.
I think when they in invested in DAT they had tpo make a choice or DAT or Oostende.
Maybe they still have a good relation.

Lumumba, biac has nothing to do with Ostend, there's no relationship between the two airports and no cooperation. They have a different management as Jan pointed out.

MK bought Race Air Cargo (when Race got in trouble after the Air Memphis incident) so they could do the handling for their own planes in Ostend. Fligths increased from 1-2 a week to 4-5. This week, all flights from Manston are operated from Ostend (= 6 extra DC-8 and 3 B747 flights).

I don't think it will affect the MK flights in BRU as they are operated for Demavia.

Jan, no need to be aggressive. This is a discussion forum where everybody makes input with his own knowledge. We can all make mistakes.

It's quite humoristic to read the comment from Wiloo. They complain about the age of the MK fleet. No big deal, as in Luxembourg, their other hub, it's no issue. It's also quite ironic that the IL76's, the "noisy planes", are banned, while their age was only 10-20 years.
