Painting even before selling the first ticket ?
My messages reflect my personal opinion which may be different than yours. I beleive a forum is made to create a debate so I encourage people to express themselves, the way they want, with the ideas they want. I expect the same understanding in return.

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
Hi,
I just saw if the registration OO-ABA was availible,
I made this search on http://www.mobilit.fgov.be and answer : registration is availible.
So,probably this ex-Finnair A340 should have this reg.
Greetings,
Thibault

It is indeed most likely that the registration will be someting like OO-AB?. Does anyone have an idea how long it takes to paint an A340 ?

Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
About 9 days, 30 companions, 240 liters of paint for an A330-300 which can be compared in size and proportions. I didn't find an A340-300.
Brand new aircraft from the factory needs : an adhesion layer, an anti-corrosion layer, then, at the very end, the colors of the airline. 7 years is the average lifetime before to repaint it.

Regarding flying to secondary Chinese cities : does anybody know what they expect as a % of passengers originating from BE/EU, or will they be filling planes with Chinese tourists coming over on a EU visit ? And as such, would they view every ticket sold here as being a nice +, but not really needing this traffic ? Or are they expecting a 50/50 sales in O/D ?

Once the business plan has been approved ...

Can't wait to see the first bird wearing the full Air Belgium livery!

I truly hope that they corrected the colours but somehow I doubt itbrusselsairlinesfan wrote: ↑28 Mar 2017, 10:18 Can't wait to see the first bird wearing the full Air Belgium livery!
Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
I really love the Air Belgium colours.
Re: Air Belgium: a rebirth?
The pictures looked indeed very good, now let's hope that the painters don't mess it up and make it a really nice colour scheme and the colours in the correct Belgian flag order (well, correct: art. 193 Constituion states that the colour scheme is red-yellow-black ) as well

The constitution does not determine the "order" of the colours nor whether they must be displayed horizontally or vertically.Yuqu12 wrote: ↑28 Mar 2017, 11:27 The pictures looked indeed very good, now let's hope that the painters don't mess it up and make it a really nice colour scheme and the colours in the correct Belgian flag order (well, correct: art. 193 Constituion states that the colour scheme is red-yellow-black ) as well

DE BELGISCHE GRONDWET
Art. 193

Art. 193
Die Belgische Nation wählt die Farben Rot, Gelb und Schwarz und als Wappen des Königreichs den Belgischen Löwen mit dem Spruch: EINIGKEIT MACHT STARK.
By the way the Belgian flag has a unique characteristic due to its format, although I don't know if this is official. The one flying above the King's Palace exhibits this property so I guess it must be right.
