Nice 3D pictures. But back to earth, any news about the AOC and more important about the chinese money ?
Last week "radio tarmac" was buzzing with rumors that the chinese part pulled out of the project.
Hong-Kong as nothing to do with chinese charters and today's pictures don't look like a charter aircraft anymore.

That's indeed a nice animation but the more I see something from Air Belgium the more this annoys me. An airline named after a country they will be based in and yet they can't paint a correct flag of that country. Alone for that stupidity I doubt I'll ever fly this airline, that is in the case they ever take off.

I know I know, i'm ranting about something that many will consider to be silly but if you have the balls to name your airline after a country and you design a color scheme resembling the flag of that country than the least you could do is to put the colours in the right order.

It's almost as bad as calling your airline "Air Flanders" and then using the rooster of the Wallonian flag on the plane

You know, the "Vlaamse" Luchtvaartmaatschappij is now Dutch-Canadian (with a Chinese seasoning) and registered in Slovenia

Yes:

On 11th August, OH-LQE flew from ROM Rome to HEL Helsinki as AY8921:
https://www.flightradar24.com/data/flights/ay8921

And today (15th August), the same A340-300 did a test flight HEL-HEL as AY-8951:

If the AOC is not in by the end of this month (August), it will be very hard to start up in October.

If FPS Mobility refuses to comment about pending dossiers, could they at least explain how long it takes to approve an AOC application? Which kind of documents have to be provided? What can hold up an application?

Such a long silence is intolerable: two airlines are employing more than 50 people each, at a loss since nothing is happening. And they cannot start selling tickets to compensate for that loss as long as they don't receive their AOC (although VLM could start from Slovenia a little more ambitiously than what they are doing now).

More and more I get the impression that the two applications are linked: one for the North, one for the South. If they give VLM first an AOC, then in theory they could start flying to China within a few months (if they can make their dreams in Maribor come through). But then they would take away a possible market for Air Belgium (same customers). And viceversa. What is unacceptable, is the lack of transparency. And of course both companies cannot officially complain, because then they are even more dependent on the 'goodwill' of the Directorate staff. Typical old school Belgian institute, nobody dares to touch (why? too many political 'postjes', like the intercommunales?).
Are there any Directorate members active on luchtzak.be, they could maybe clarify (but don't use the argument of safety of the passengers). For those who are interested, just check how difficult it is to get 'a license to captain a small boat' in Belgium, and compare it with the process in Holland:several forms/papers timfile and a few months <> 1 day exam, including delivery of license. And I can assure you, boating in Holland is as safe or safer than in Belgium...
I feel really sorry for these 2 x 50 people, every day they come to work, not knowing if it will be their last day with the company or not. Imagine what it does to your motivation.
