And when they had the cab ride they asked for, they would have taken 2 more bombs of which at least one would be a shrapnel bomb.

Not to mention the timing could have been even worse with the Easter holiday starting in less than one week.

Since BRU is closed tomorrow, they will have to come back to an alternative airport!

Another dead person has been found at BRU.
And the media is also mentioning that a wall has indeed collapsed during the ongoing forensic investigation.

A (black) police helicopter. VFR flights are prohibited in Brussels CTR by notam. Only military, police and SAR allowed. No media helicopters, no sightseeing, no pipeline controls.

Apparently the King & Queen are currently visiting Brussels Airport which explains the helicopter circling.

FR24 is also showing SFN (as SN369 Douala), SFV (as SN203 Dakar) an SFY (as SN277 Accra). All 5 left BRU around 1 pm.

And I assume the 4 JetAirways plane that will need to fly to AMS as of Sunday will soon be positioned back to India, as their pax from Newark and Toronto will have found alternate solutions by now.

The devastation is incredible.... it will take weeks/months to get the airport 'repaired'... This is so sad :(

EasyJet will transfer BRU flights to LIL from tomorrow onwards.
Same schedule, on arrival free transfer organised to BRU. On departure make own way to LIL, but cost reimbursed by easyJet.

A Jetairfly 737-700 OO-JAO currently flying from BRU to probably OST.

A Ryanair 737-800 EI-DHN left BRU to London Stansted STN.

Emirates EK184 to DXB departed from DUS iso BRU.

Etihad EY55 from AUH is flying in direction of BRU; not sure where it will land; probably also DUS.

There will be a solidarity vigil (solidariteitswake/veillée de solidarité) this evening for the victims of the attack. People will walk with candles from parking 58 to the fly-over near Brussels Airport, to show their support. Everyone is invited to attend. According to the press release from the justice department it could take "days" before both crime scenes will be released...

I hope for BRU that the airport will be released sooner rather then later, as long as it's an active crime scene nobody can enter the building and thus no evaluations about the damage / structural integrety can be made which will delay a restart even further...

Days before its released then more days to clean and fix things. Easter holiday travelers will be impacted for sure...

Anybody a rough idea when the par park will be reopened?
Its just a small thing in these dramatic events, but its a huge inconvenience to be deprived of it.
