Post by sean1982 »

several media confirm that the Air France that diverted because of a bomb threat was actually carrying a REAL explosive device in the toilet of the aircraft.

Kenyan aviation authorities have changed the first message into "a suspicious item found on board": https://www.aviation24.be/airlines_press_r ... paris-cdg/

The device found in the toilet is a fake bomb, says Air France CEO.

A rescue plane has been sent from La Réunion. Indeed F-GSQP scheduled to fly today from La Réunion to Paris Orly, is now en route to Mombasa as AF389V.

Air France's CEO denies that there was an bomb / an explosive onboard.

So it was a fake bomb.
Now they send a "rescue" flight from Saint Denis.

Kenya's NTV reports that this (fake bomb) was found onboard:

(my remark: not sure yet that it was indeed this decide that was found onboard)

The "rescue" flight is because the slides were used to evacuate the airplane I think.

You're right Nevihta, just saw it on TV that at least one slide (on 3L) was deployed.

If fixed quickly this bird may fly back empty to RUN to pick up the passengers of AF671 that was cancelled tonight to operate the "rescue" flight.

A couple has been arrested upon arrival in Paris.

The place where the object was found, was checked during a pre flight inspection, leaving no other possibility then a passenger intervention.
