Thanks, Patrice.

This had been reported elsewhere, together with the announcement that VEX would stop serving that route.

AF will use its regional subsidiary Régional to fly the route with smaller planes (ERJ 135). In addition to that non-stop daily flight, on weekdays there will be a one-stop flight by Saab 2000 via Clermont-Ferrand, also operated by régional.

Main changes in France

Post by sn26567 »

Air France/KLM look at Asia. Daily flight from Paris to Bombay. Manila direct and Jakarta via Kuala Lumpur (instead of Singapore), from Amsterdam by KLM.

This increases the number of seats available to Singapore from Roissy-CDG. This Air France flight is now operated by Boeing 777-300 codeshared with Qantas allowing Air France to serve Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Adelaïde, Brisbane and Darwin with a connection in Singapore.

China is one of the big assets of Air France in the region. It is the only European airline offering non-stop flights from Paris to four Chinese destinations: Beijing, Shanghai (in cooperation with China Eastern), Hongkong and Canton (in cooperation with China Southern).

In Europe, Paris-Amsterdam is now becoming a shuttle operation. Fligts to Spain are reinforced in cooperation with Air Europa (14 daily flights Paris-Madrid). Same operation to Italy on Milan-Malpensa (9 daily flights) and Rome (13) in codeshare with Alitalia.

Domestically, Orly-Lyon has increased from 5 to 8 daily flights to compete with the TGV.

Paris-Bombay daily with Delta, as an extension of a flight from New York. This winter also Nice-New York increases from 4 to 5 weekly Delta flights.

Paris-Beirut with Star Airlines every Thursday and Sunday from Roissy-CDG 1. Return fare from 478 €. Star Airlines will also fly as a scheduled airline to Cancun (Mexico) and Varadero (Cuba).

Air Austral at Paris and Marseille: 10 weekly night flights Roissy-Saint-Denis-de-la-Réunion. A third Boeing 777-200 from July will enable the airline to create a weekly Marseille-la Réunion every Saturday.

The Carribean for one euro. As an extension of its daily Orly Sud- Pointe-à-Pitre and Fort-de-France flights, Air Caraïbes proposes to continue to Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, the Grenadines, Cayenne for one euro.

Latest Aviation OO-SBZ writes "On Monday 25/07/2004, Atlas Blue, the low-cost branche of Royal Air Maroc (Morocco), initiated operations with a flight from Marrakech to Lyon (France). The carrier will mostly operate from that city to destinations in Europe with a single Boeing 737-400. Yet Atlas Blue hopes to have 6 B737s in service by the end of the year."

Blue seems to be a favourite in the name of upstart airlines: JetBlue, Blue1, Atlas Blue, ... Who else?

Hello everybody,

Fellow-member qnnm told me in the chatbox yesterday evening that Lotus Air from Egypt will operate regular charter flights into BRU during the winter season. The first flight was flown yesterday (29/10) and the a/c used was SU-LBD.

Isn't it strange that the SN press release mentions at length where they will be flying, but omits to mention where they will stop flying?

For example, nowhere is it said that SN stops flying to St. Petersburg. Exit the codeshare with Pulkovo! (On SN aeroplanes!)

Wasn't LED announced as a seasonal service?

Meanwhile, Virgin Express stops the codeshare with Malmö Aviation on flights to Gotenburg and Stockholm. Normal, since SN takes over the codeshare...

@BH: this has to do with US entering Star Alliance.

US is already putting its code for quite some time now on UA/LH flights to/from BRU.
