Incident in Belgian airspace

Postby Skystef » 21 Jun 2003, 21:54

Hi folks,

On June 20 there was an "intruder alert" in Belgian airspace.
A DC-8 flying for TMA of Lebanon was heading from Beirut to ebos, when 2 F-16's took off from Kleine Brogel to intercept the plane because of "long radiosilence".
After establishing radiocontact, the aircraft was further accompanied by the two military fighters till its end destinations.

Who says the Belgian Air Force is dormant?

Hi,

apparently today there has been another incident, now with a freighter, 2 F16's took off from Kleine Brogel and intercepted the aircraft just after the Belgian sea. After they saw the F16's the re-established communications with the radar.

ciao,

Bart
