Bart

stork = ooievaar

This would explain extreme damage

Oops :oops: :oops: now I am really ashamed of myself. Chris, please accept my excuses for misunderstanding your topic-title ;)

Now I now the damage is caused by a 'ooievaar' I am even more amazed about the damage this big bird can cause! I hope it's not a stork from 'Planckendael Mechelen' though.... :?

Indeed...

In my opinion, storks (= "cigogne" in French) were closely linked with delivering babies but not with colliding with Boeings :wink:

Amazing that a bird could cause such a damage.

Thanks for the links, Chris.

8O That's a lot of damage.....8O
Can anyone tell me if this bird had collided with the cockpit windows it could have caused problems for the pilots?

That's something they should include in FS!

Years ago, I saw a test where they were simulating birdstrikes. They used frozen chickens and catapultated them to te canopy of an F16.

The pilot would have been killed.

Thanks for the story 744rules.
They were indeed lucky that the strok didn't strike the cockpit or even more vital parts of the plane, because that could have caused huge damage.
