Bomb alert at BRU (RAM B744 - CN-RGA)

Post by Glider »

Don't know the exact circumstances, but this morning, there has been a bomb alert on the RAM 744 coming in to BRU. Everything, but mostly the baggage was checked by the airport police forces.

Finally, and luckily, there was nothing found, but the departure to NDR - Nador has been delayed till 6 PM tonight (original dep time was around noon). It caused some nice views though. Imagine a 744 at the gate with 817 (jups, 817) baggages on the tarmac next to it. Shame there are no pics of it...

It seems that due to this bomb alert, the other flight this evening (also with a 747) is delayed:

This is probably due to the fact that they don't have any spoare planes to fill the gap of the B744 staying in BRU all day.

a/c was still there at 10pm. If it hasn't left by now (2245lt), I'm afraid it will be a long night as a 747 (even the -400) cannot leave after 11pm.

Heard the pax were kept in the terminal and are getting upset/angry/agressive.

About the second planned RAM B744 flight of yesterday:

the scheduled departure time was 21:45 but was delayed to 09:00 today as the first flight was delayed due to a bomb alert. But today's flight did not took off at 14:00 ( and this ETA is still listed at this moment), but the incoming flight :arrow: 02:10 Nador AT 846 12:30 is cancelled.
I can imagine those pax are getting very angry. So has RAM chartered another plane or do they have enough free seats on their other flights to bring these people to Morocco :?:

Indeed, there has been some struggles last night. I heard it this morning at work. Passengers even fought with each other to get available places on other planes... :-s

@OO-VEX:
Jup, and what a plane they have chartered today!

All of a sudden, this beast stood before my eyes: :-d

The bombalarm wasn't the only thing Tuesday that delayed the 747-400 of AT. They had also a technical problem with 2 tyres of the maingear. They had only 1 tyre with them and the other one has to come from Paris.

When I was in the bulk of the AT 744, there were 2 reserve tyres. Indeed, only one for the main gear, and one for the nosewheel.

Knew about the technical failures, but didn't know about the 'Paris'-thing. Thx for the extra information!
