SSJ100 program to get $4.2 million government support

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has signed a government resolution giving Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Co. (SCAC) a RUB250 million ($4.2 million) subsidy to promote the Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) this year.

Russia and Jordan negotiate a Sukhoi Superjet 100 deal

Jordan and Russia are negotiating the procurement of several Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) passenger aircraft.

As to how many Superjet planes Jordan was planning to buy, it would be premature to speak about their number until the decision to buy the planes was approved by the King. The draft letter of intent mentions eight aircraft, four in the principal contract and four as an option. Time will show how many will actually be bought.

The next round of negotiations will be held during the MAKS 2015 international aerospace show that opened in Zhukovsky in the Moscow region on August 25.

It is planned to station the aircraft on the Aqaba airfield from where flights would be made.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft and Aeroflot plan to firm a contract for 20 additional SSJ100s by end of 2015, thus increasing the model in the carrier’s fleet to 50 by 2017.

In other news, Sukhoi Civil Aircraft plans to reduce SSJ100 costs by US$2.6 million per aircraft by replacing Western suppliers with Russian ones.

Greenland Express is going to purchase 5 Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft

Greenland Express is going to purchase five Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft. It was stated by the carrier’s CEO Gert Brask. Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company confirmed that it negotiated with the Icelandic carrier, but declined to unveil any details.

Brask declined to unveil financial details of the deal. The liner’s list price is $36 million. Greenland Express does not look like a reliable partner – the carrier has temporary suspended flights: having started its activities in June 2014, it was forced to suspend flights until the end of 2015 in September 2014. At present the carrier is in the process of obtaining Air Operator Certificate.

Greenland Express operates flights on local routes between Iceland and Denmark. According to planespotters.net, the carrier’s fleet comprises only one aircraft — single-aisle medium-haul Fokker 100 (the last vehicle of the type was manufactured in 1997, Fokker was declared bankrupt in 1996). For reference, the largest Icelandic carrier Icelandair operates 26 Boeing 757 aircraft (and it has also placed orders for 16 Boeing 737 jets).

Irish airline CityJet may get 5 Russian Sukhoi Superjet 100 passenger aircraft

A branch of Russia's United Aircraft Corporation is negotiating the delivery of 5 Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100) aircraft to the Irish CityJet airline, a number of sources familiar with the deal said Sunday (today).

A source close to Russia's Trade and Industry Ministry confirmed the information to RIA Novosti.

On Friday, Russian Trade and Industry Minister Denis Manturov said that the European deliveries of the Russian SSJ-100 passenger aircraft will begin with a British air carrier.

After VLM, its former sister CityJet?

Sukhoi expects to reach SSJ100 breakeven in 2016

The stretched version of the Sukhoi Superjet aircraft, the SSJ 100SV, will be certified in 2018 and enter service in 2019, according to a new Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) business-plan recently approved by parent company United Aircraft Corp. (UAC).

The stretched version of the regional aircraft will seat 110-125 passengers, against the current 103 passengers in all-economy layout. SCAC is counting on selling no less than 140 aircraft until 2031.

Notably this marks the first time SCAC officials name a specific date for the SSJ100SV, although the news that SCAC is developing a stretched version has been spread since this year’s Paris Air Show. In June SCAC’s chief-designer’s deputy Alexander Dolotovsky told journalists that the stretched variant will have a new wing with a higher aspect ratio for improved lift. To that point the stretched version program was at preliminary design stage, and high-speed wind tunnel tests had just started.

According to the new business-plan, SCAC expects to sell the total of 595 SSJ 100s of various modifications by 2031, including those aircraft already in service, the number of which now stands at 56. Besides the stretched version, the forecast includes 82 base version aircraft, 331 long-range version and 42 corporate version (Sukhoi Business Jet, SBJ) aircraft. Of the latter version, sixth aircraft is being assembled and is scheduled to fly early next year. This aircraft is fitted with auxiliary fuel tanks for 6,000 km range.

Speaking of the financial side of the business-plan, Slyusar mentioned reaching breakeven point and positive operational revenue in 2016. By 2017 the OEM expects the net profit to reach RUR 6.9 bln (US $125.5 mln).

Someone must have missed the geography: City Jet is not a British carrier, they are Irish.
And by the way, I always understood CityJet was at one time a parent to VLM but never a sister.

There are two different things in the article: negotiations with Irish airline CityJet and imminent deliveries to an (unnamed) British carrier. Nobody missed the geography. But you're right: CityJet was the parent, not the sister of VLM. ;)

15 + 10 ? That's much more than the 5 that were predicted earlier by Russian Aviation: https://www.aviation24.be/forums/posting.p ... 3#pr323207

And thus CityJet and its former subsidiary and still current contractor VLM will have the same fleet! (Except that CityJet also ordered many CRJ900s)

That's huge news!
Despite all the political insults flying East and West, the Irish and Italians are working with the Russians to bring a plan together.

Who knows who might follow suit?

The Rubble is dirt cheap, the aircraft is darn good, oil is cheap.
Everything is in favor of the SSJ right now, except their too slow production ramp up.

Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company is going to manufacture 17 Sukhoi SuperJet 100 aircraft in 2015

Manufacturer of Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ 100) aircraft – Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company (SCAC) is going to manufacture 17 jets of the type in 2015, Director of Komsomolsk-on-Amur branch of SCAC Dmitry Bloshinski noted, PRIME reports.

This year’s production program includes 17 aircraft of the type… Last year we manufactured 37 jets, this year – 17 ones, so we have some extra time. We are going to use this time to resolve matters in the area of quality. The current company’s objective is to harmonize sales and production of the aircraft. Because we must not spend resources on production of jets, which won’t be sold, and customers should not wait for their airliners to be delivered,” Bloshinski said.

According to him, the company’s production capacities allow manufacturing 50 jets per year. “In the end of last year we manufactured one jet every seven days. In fact, this is 50 jets per year; this is the output we have reached. We didn’t put any equipment out of operation and we didn’t fire any employees ever since,” he said.

Speaking of the company’s production program for 2016, Bloshinski didn’t specify an exact figure saying that it will be “more than 17 jets”.

According to the company, in 2011 it manufactured five production aircraft of the type. In 2012 SCAC manufactured 12 airliners, in 2013 – 25 ones, in 2014 – 37 ones.

Today air carriers operate 56 Sukhoi SuperJet 100 (SSJ 100) liners. The largest SSJ100 operators are Aeroflot – Russian Airlines and Interjet (Mexico).

CityJet will initially use its first four SSJ100s on charters once delivered in 2016, and later introduce them on its London City route network from 2017 when 11 more enter service. All the SSJs are on lease.

CityJet placed an option to take delivery of six more SSJ100s with a US$210 million list price, as the carrier advances talks with two European airlines to operate regional services for them via wet lease arrangement. CityJet is also likely to execute an existing 10-order option for the Superjet, with decision in 3Q 2016.
