Denim Airways in Augsburg - The First Year

On June 9th 2004, Denim Airways celebrated the first anniversary of its debut in Augsburg with a glass of champagne for each passenger. Exactly a year ago, the company launched its regular flights to Düsseldorf, shortly followed by the service to Berlin (Tempelhof). Passenger numbers have risen steadily on both routes, putting the sector into the black for the first time in June.

Passengers on all the regular flights are particularly appreciative of outstanding reliability (99% of all flights are operated as scheduled) and excellent on-board services.Another popular feature is our summer service to Italy (Sardinia/Cagliari, Naples and Ischia) and Croatia (Zadar and Brac).

The airline – a member of the since 1996 successfully operating Dutch Denim Air Group -plans to extend the route network: Since 1st June 2004, Denim Airways has also linked Zurich with Venice twice daily and Zurich with Florence once a day.

These new routes are operated in co-operation and code-share with Swiss International Air Lines, another recognition of the Denim Airways product. Should forecasts for the Swabian region indicate positive potential, a connection between Augsburg and Zurich could be possible in the future.
