Interesting... I guess that pretty much confirms it then, now it is only waiting for the official confirmation.
Wonder why they play the game with first closing all and then re-opening some booking classes in the run up to the wind down of the route? To keep selling tickets and roll over the JFK pax to their EWR flight?
Selling tickets for knowingly no longer existing flights, especially at the full fare only, is not my idea of excellent customer service!

Oh well, there goes the first competitor on the BRU-JFK route, barely a few days after Brussels Airlines launched their flight to JFK: I'd say that is fast indeed and good news for them, I guess.

Where are these pictures taken, if i may ask? It looks like a travel fair or something?

Mmm, not so sure, it still says New York - Newark. And according to their own network, this is how they describe New York as JFK and Newark as EWR...

No Inquirer has right is this. Before the change on their map ex-BRU to the USA was with three separated lines: Toronto, New-York and Newark.

They are now only selling their most expensive tickets and it will be totally down this week or at the latest next week.

We will see what they will put in place of this New-York flight.

Yes indeed, but they do have only one single line to it; if they would indeed be meaning the 2 destinations apart, they'd have drawn 2 separate lines, I am sure, just like on their routemap on their website.

IMHO, after dropping JFK, they are going to rebrand Newark as 'New York - Newark' to make it perfectly clear they are still serving New York: not everybody knows Newark is indeed pretty close to New York city, albeit in another US state.

just my personal opinion though.

Edit: thank you Atlantis. :)
As to your question: wasn't Bangalore mentioned a few times?
I'd put my money on that route or alternatively ORD in codeshare with their US partner American Airlines, which -if I am allowed to speculate very wildly- might in turn drop its daily ORD-BRU flight then, now that UA has launched that route...
Note: the above is PURE speculation, but not impossible either.

Bangalore is indeed mentioned and probably they will start this route again to BRU. According to the lastest it could be by the end of the year. So this means that booking channels has to open very soon.

If they can open now an other US destination depends on the deliveries of their other A330's.

In view of the current Global Economic conditions and its impact on business worldwide, Jet Airways today announced that as part of its ongoing network evaluation with a clear focus on profitability, it will be redeploying its assets on its existing route network. This has hence necessitated the temporary suspension of the airline’s Brussels-New York(JFK)-Brussels flight effective 10th September 2012.

Jet Airways will ensure that the affected guests will be offered alternative flights on its own services to New York (Newark) or that of partner airlines effective 10th September onwards.

If I read this press statement, I see that the suspension will only be temporary. For how long?

And who are the partner airlines that will accommodate the passengers to JFK? They will need a partner, because the pax from three flights from India to Brussels cannot fit into two aircraft from Brussels to North America.

Didn't they work together with American, offering several connections out of JFK? Tough I don't know if this is still the case and if it is/was just an interline agreement or a full codeshare agreement.

Or perhaps SN and/or UA? Now they are about to choose between Star and Skyteam (or better, now the Indian ministry of aviation is about to decide if they let 9W join Star or not).

Indeed ... JFK is not bookable anymore on their website (link to EWR results when you select JFK...).
