WOW 8O I didn't knew that :!:

Since they use the plane on routes such as Düsseldorf, I suppose we would be able to see it in EBBR this summer as well.

Many thanks for the research ;)

Why would it be dangarous to fly with them?
It's not because they find some things in Egypt that also the Turkish carriers are maintaining there planes not as they should.
Let us keep to the facts and don't spread rumours or other stories you don't have any proof for.

This is not meant as a direct message to Allnippon but more a general messages to everyone.

That's correct Andries.
But all airlines had to correct this problem on all their MD's otherwise they aren't allowed to fly them anymore.
You can be sure that all MD80's flying around at the moment are adjusted to the letter of safety MD and the FAA send out to all MD80 operators.

Are you reffering to the Alaska MD carsh in 1999 :?:

If yes, the problem has been solved by doing maintenance more regularely, and adding some grease to the stab, more frequently.

If an airline really wants (due to lack of money or neglect) it can easily skip those tasks. (Let's hope they don't !!!!! )

Hi,
Although I was hoping to fly diferent kinds of aircraft of Onur Air, I flew 6 times with the MD. Nice plane, rather limited in space but but every time we headed for Turkey or returned from Turkey, we departed om time.
So, no complaints about the MD from my side. Even the Russian built aircrafts (flew on the Air Via TU154) are more comfortable than expected, evne if your seat is next to the engines.

The DC9-MD80-90-B717 family are wonderful aircraft. The most recent models are more quiet than many equivalent aircaft from competing manufacturers.

Moreover, the load factor needs to be above 80% before you get a middle seat, thanks to the 3-2 configuration.

Finally the safety record is exceptional.

Just checked with a MNG person about these a/c : this season they are dedicated to a german touroperator, so chances of seeing in BRU will be rather exceptional
