Not that I don't trust you, but what's your source as I didn't found a source (yet)?

...Typicall me, not to even check their own website...

This route has been planned multiple times before but never made it, only SN operated it shortly... Hope they will succeed now. Also their DUB route will be expanded next summer (use of A321) and frequency of this route went up in the previous seasons. Seems like they are rather happy with BRU.

Indeed, for the moment only on EI website according to the following schedule:

Code: Select all

EI 846 ORK 1100 BRU 1335 320 135
EI 847 BRU 1415 ORK 1455 320 135
I had expected an ATR on this route, instead they are deploying the rather high capacity Airbusses...

AIR ONE OPENS VENICE HUB WITH 11 INTERNATIONAL FLIGHTS

As of May 4th Alitalia's smart carrier, Air One will open a third hub in Venice, in addition to Milano Malpensa and Pisa. Thanks to the two Airbus A320s based in Venice, Air one will start 11 new international flights to Brussels and Barcelona every day and to Istanbul, Warsaw, Prague, Athens, Bucharest, Sofia, Tirana, Palma de Maiorca and Minorca. In 2012 Air One will offer over 500,000 seats to and from Venice's Marco Polo Airport and expects to operate up to 2,800 flights.

Tickets are on sale as of today at www.flyairone.com, through an Air One Call Center at the number 892.444 or at all travel agencies. Prices for these new flights start at 19 Euro.

Flights of AirOne:

AP711 BRU 10h25 - VCE 12h10 A320 Daily
AP710 VCE 7h50 - BRU 9h35 A320 Daily

Apparently AP operates a ultra high density seating of 186 seats (6 more then maximum) with 6 blocked (Comfort) to get the 180 maximum certified seating... That can't be to comfortable...

Yes, let's hope for some new longhaul announcements soon. Most likely candidates...

* All nippon (NH) - Narita (just announced Seattle and San Jose on 787 today, so let's hope BRU follows soon)
* Jet Airways (9W) - Bengaluru (resumption)
* Brussels Airlines (SN) - New York + 1 new African destination (Lagos , Brazzaville, Libreville, Dar Es Salaam?)

Hopefulls...
* Asiana (OZ) - Seoul (have read that BRU is courting OZ to resume pax service SEL-BRU)

Unlikely, but who knows somewhere attracted by Brussels STAR hub.
* Singapore (SQ) - Singapore (maybe as a tag on to/from IST or ATH ?)
* Scoot ??? - Singapore, if SQ doesn't do it, why not their low cost Scoot then... BRU would fit nicely in between SQ stations of FRA, AMS, CDG and LHR...
* Air China (CA)- Shanghai (now that HU has pulled the plug, why not let them try it)
* United (UA) - Houston or San Francisco.
* South African (SA) - Johannesburg (with the necessary feed in JNB and BRU, this route could work 2/3 times a week with A330-200, strong O&D)
* TAM (JJ) - Sao Paulo

Possible surprises:
- Air Asia (D7) - Kuala Lumpur (in 2011 D7 asked European airports for a new service tender... does anyone know if BRU even participated in the tender?
- JetStar (JQ) - Singapore - Maybe in a rush to beat SQ or Scoot...
- Delta (DL) - Detroit - another try after the unsuccessful attempt by NW ?
- Arik Air (W3) - Lagos - must be possible on their 737-800, although they are in a financial mess
- Emirates (EK) - Dubai... one day for sure, with such a big number of new planes coming up

Hainan will cancel PVG in January, but will keep PEK and upgrade it to 5 weekly in early summer 2012 and to 6 weekly in June/July (what's the exact date?). So, no they will not leave, they will 'just' abandon the Shanghai-BRU market.

I saw that already some time ago. Has it not been mentioned more than a month ago on this forum? Just asking, no critics.

sorry, it was no criticism to you.
Truth is that I was too lazy to look for it in the past records. Otherwise I would have posted it. Not to judge you, just to answer your question - as Mr Boeing has done.

Using the oppertunity that SN will opertate only 3 daily compared to 4 daily the previous years...? I could see them using Embraers for this route, like their 2 daily to AMS.
At least if they come...we always see some nice slot requests that never become reallity.

Forgot to mention it yesterday.
Apparently SN has requested slots for a twice daily BRU - LNZ (Linz) flight
