Also as of April only 4 daily flights to Dakar instead of 5 :-(. I wonder how BRUair & belgian government negotiated this deal, since after negotiation it seems even worse their deal now.

Found this on airliners.net:

"Another important change was implemented to the BEG-AMS-BRU where both cities will be operated separately. Amsterdam will be served daily whereas Brussels will be served 6 times per week. Apparently Jat Airways has signed a codeshare agreement with Jet Airways in order to feed its North American routes."

CY has never come so often to BRU from LCA. In the past, there were only 2 weekly flights, until Summer 2010, when they increased to 4 weekly flights before stopping altogether. Now 6 weekly flights by A320 !!! I guess it has to do with the Cypriot presidency of the EU starting in July...

NEW: German low cost airline Germanwings starts to fly Brussels-Stuttgart 3 times daily as of new summer season. This is part of the launch of 8 new routes out of Stuttgat by Germanwings.

I guess they are replacing Lufthansa on Brussels-Stuttgart (altghough the LH flights are still open for reserv ation...). The A319 is a clear improvement on the current small regional jets.

Probably the result of the SN flights starting 1 June (at least, that's what is being said now).

the 764 only offers a few seats less. might be more because they need the 777 range on a new pacific route

Could also be possible (maybe/probably even a better explenation), but it depends on which configuration of 777 they fly to BRU at this moment (I only know it are old-UA aircraft and no CO anymore) and which 764 they'll fly to BRU (according to wikipedia they have 12 with 235 seats and 4 with 256 seats, for the 777 they have 4 different configurations with capacity variating between 253 and 276).

It can be a combination. SN starting JFK => less tranfer pax on the UA flight to EWR => 777 more profitable on another route than BRU. Last years CO kept operating the 777 to BRU year-round, so in that case BRU was the more profitable destination for a 777, with SN starting JFK this (can) change.

Sure about the downgrade on UA961? I still see the 777 loaded in Amadeus and it's also loaded in UA's system...

Edit: Every randomly checked date in May, June, July has the 777 with some decent loads allready througout the plane in Y, Y+, C and even some F...
