Ok so why it take so long to get out!

LH has fully acquired SN only a couple of months ago. Give them the time to discuss such important issues in depth between them, rather than to take a precipitous decision too fast and regret it for many years.

I hope it will arrive before the "new" first flight to BOM. Or will SN be able to fly BOM without receiving OO-SFT ?

I just counted: today, there are 8 destinations for SN which require an A330. BOM would be the 9th destination. This means thus that the current 9 A330's could be sufficient, if they are all available (no maintenance) and if there aren't any technical problems. But that is a little bit playing with fire, 9 planes for 9 destinations.

Hello :)
Don't forget the IAD route which is not operated in winter. ;)

So, time enough to use 10 A330 at the end of the month.
Cheers

Did you take into account the many triangle flights, for which one plane serves two destinations? In such cases, 5 planes can be sufficient for 9 destinations!

Previous summer schedule, I believe every Friday and Sunday had 9 flights planned for 9 A330s.
Of these, only JFK, IAD and YYZ were non-triangular (so in total 9 flights serving 15 destinations).

Yes yes, I counted the double routes as Conakry/Dakar.

The long haul flights of today are: SN451, SN285, SN501, SN551, SN359, SN371, SN205, SN241 and then BOM = 9 :)

No news, it's weekend for me as well. :D

The original March schedule is already quite messed up because of the delays (not only SFT, but also late release of other A330 from heavy maintenance). If SFT is not in Brussels and released by the BCAA tomorrow, it's very likely we will see some more wetleases.

Yes :D

It's on the edge.
Wetlease likely as backup plan, then.
Thank you.

Ahem,

Just running wild here.
* Meeting(s) (Board, LH Group on AFI Ops) delayed or no decisions publically communicated.
* OO-SFT EIS delayed.
* OO-SFT missing painted titles and Star logo.

Anybody less paranoid than little me to link the dots...?

Strange indeed. Please keep Carsten away from the paint brushes! ;)

Nothing delayed here, communication was not planned at this stage yet and will come at due time.
Homo Aeroportus wrote: 12 Mar 2017, 12:39 * OO-SFT EIS delayed.
For now that's only a minor delay and as earlier noted here, unfortunately it's not the only A330 returning to BRU with a delay after heavy maintenance.
Homo Aeroportus wrote: 12 Mar 2017, 12:39 * OO-SFT missing painted titles and Star logo.
I don't know exactly why, but they were added later in Hahn, nothing is missing here.

Thanks RoMax.
Former professional "habit" to look for possible line linking apparently unrelated dots, and where "paranoia" was almost encouraged so as not to miss any potential pattern.
Now, when you remove the dots ... there is no line to look for ;)

Let's hope that SFT enters service soon as this wet lease tempo solution doesn't come cheap I guess.

The paint on SFT was not up to standards and needed some rework, this was done at Hahn (Cabin installation) instead of Malta (C-check + paint).

There are a lot of Boards meetings, more than 1 a month on average, most of the decisions are not publicly disclosed. Now that SN is a 100% daughter of LH, all the decisions will have to be submitted to the LH Board for final approval. Don't be worried, it is all going in the right direction. :)

Really? That's bad management! I would think that the SN Board (in which LH is represented anyway) would at least have some freedom to decide alone on matters of minor importance, e.g. less than €xxx,000. Of course, the purchase or leasing of planes for a long period does not fall in that category of decisions.
