It's not even IATA who makes the figures. And the calculation was quit easy to do to proove it: take the number of aircraft and their type, fill them with real figures ( such as thay ET leaves back to ADD almost empty but comes in full, etc) and you will NEVER reach the LGG total. This proves that the figure is including trucked freight...
Also the airport can not even proove how much trucked freight it has, because it adds all to the same figure.
what's LGG's aim to advice more than it has in reality ? You should look at it tis way, it's the airport itself who drops the figures for tha ranking, it's noty IATA who calculates them.
If you open an airport and post 500.000 tons, you will be listed like that, unfortunately.IATA counts on airports honesty, which not all are. :(

final numbers : 482.121 tonnes, 356.782 pax.
Filou, you should be carefull saying all that without any proof. If LGG mgmt happen to read all this denigration, you may have problems.
I really hope you'll come with proof and numbers next time.
100% of your posts regarding LGG are clearly either an attack or a denigration. While I still find them interesting because you certainly bring info that other don't, I believe you should step back a little.

I am like convinced that LGG Mgt reads this too, and if there was anything that would not be through, I would expect them to react. Which they don't, so I don't see a problem.
None of my posts are meant as an attack nor as a denigration, just meant to be open...

A question please: how much trucked freight has LGG reported for 2009 ? As you have very detailed info, you should see it next to the other figures. Please tell us, as I also want to know.
This total of flown cargo and trucked cargo should be compared to flown and trucked total of BRU.
That is a real comparison.

It seems the military will leave Bierset in Sept 2010.
It means a lot of space to expand but also quite some change in the tower...

Except the space, it will normally mean that extra charges will also have to be paid, because without military, Belgocontrol should do that work, and be paid for it...
and then there are again only 2 solutions: airlines as such pay for it, as it is the case in BRU and many other airports, or the Walloon government decides to incentivise this, which again will mean extra money for the airport and it's balance sheet ;)

Thanks... Having talked recently with Mil. in EBLG, it seems they don't know when they are going to leave, different rumors are going on.
Furthermore, no news about ATC, it takes quite a long time to be qualified as an ATC at an aerodrome.

From latest news, it seems TNT is doing 40% of LGG tonnage.
It's reducing every year, which is good.

You probably mean that it is good that the prcentage of TNT in the tonnage is dropping because the total LGG tonnage is increasing by activity of other companies.

I hope you don't mean that you are happy that TNT would be doing bad .

I think this is such a typical case of misinterpretation caused by typing instead of vocal communication.

Of course not :)
TNT is actually doing quite well since september.

Well, I took quite a big shortcut between the news and the conclusion, it's more clear now I guess.

Basic explanation : having 747 full of goods and fuel.
Now , they can be either full of goods, or full or fuel. Not both.
(that's for take off of course)
