The problem with SFM seems to be longer than expected...

Hope to see it in full operation soon.

Hi all

The OO-SFM is fine, the OO-SFN, which had the birdstrike, is waiting for it`s damaged engine to be replaced. Probably won`t fly before Saturday.

The return of the OO-SFO which is having it`s D-check in Singapore is also delayed due to delays with SIA which is doing the maintenance. It probably wont return before Friday.

Bad luck for SN and Birdy, hopefully they`ll get back to normal soon...

ciao

Thanks for details, FlySN.

I hope SN will file a damage claim to SIA...

The engine comes sunday or monday in Brussels normally, so the next flight of the OO-SFN would be on tuesday.

Was the former engine damaged beyond repair? That's a very costly part!

Is there any insurance to cover such incidents?

It's probably normal that they only have 2 flights, since one plane is in SIN. They've always reduced the schedules when one of the planes had its D-Check.

No, it's not normal that there are only 2 flights. The D-check should have been completed by now, and the schedules back to normal.

However, SIA has warned that there would be a delay in the completion of the D-check.

How will it come to BRU? Will it be flown in?

Engines CAN and DO travel by road as well... The damaged engine (in the mean time repaired) of OOSFN is being trucked at this moment from the UK to BRU, will be fitted to OOSFN in the course of Monday.
OOSFO arrived back from SIN C8 check this morning in fine shape. Is operating Banjul and Dakar on Sunday. Monday's Entebbe flight will be combined with Tuesday's Kigali flight, allowing OOSFN to be readied again.
The 747-200 used was Air Plus Comet's EC-IPN. It is returning from Kinshasa tonight as SN360 arriving tomorrow morning.
Air Luxor's L1011 CS-TMR was in stand-by today.
