OO-TCC behoorlijk beschadigd ... / severe damage for OO-TCC

Post by Andries »

bron : werknemer Sabena Technics

Sounds like TC can't use this aircraft for some time now.
Maybe they can lease another A320 for the time this aircraft is out of use.

Below a short translation of the topic in English:

Today Thomas Cook OO-TCC became damaged after the plane was dismounted from the pushback truck.
Due to the fact that there where no blocks behind the wheels the plane started to roll.
The plane drove into a passengerstair that stopped the plane.
A large part of the elavator is gone and the wing itself is also damaged. Acording to some sources also 2 DHL 727's where almost hit.

Best Regards,
Yvo

The 2 DHL 727's are standing at the old C-gates. The TC A320 must then have been parked at the 'satelliet' of the old C-gates and then almost struck them.

a few clarifications :
-TCC was to be towed to bay 302 with noselifter (= one man operation) as no ops today
- when a/c was lowered from noselifter, it jumped over the chocks and ran into the airbridge of bay 341
- it also ran into a DHL 727 that was parked there as well
- as nobody in cockpit, no brakes were applied
- the insurance will love it

Poor B727 of DHL  and of course sad for OO-TCC as well

Has anybody the registration of the damaged B727 ? and can someone tell me why 2 B727's were parked at the C-Pier :?: Does need more space in fromt of their hangars or were the B727's waiting to get some maintenance done by SN Technics.

Chris,

DHL 727 COULD have been hit, but it wasn't.

So only TCC and the old airbridge were damaged.

OO-TCC Dream ! Minor repairs

Post by Dude320 »

Beste,

De schade is best te doen.

Enkel een repair op enkele onderdelen.
En een structurele inspectie op de stabilizer + right wing + spars.

We namen Sabena Technics i.p.v. LHT (Lufthansa Technics) gezien
Sabena Technics meer manpower en ervaring heeft in dit soort repairs.

Een team van Airbus zal morgen of vrijdag een structural inspection doen.

Naar schatting, 10 dagen out of ops.

Groeten,

TCW -staff.

10 days 8O isn't that much for such a relatively small damage ?? Or does SN Technics have too much work to do with other customers ??

Oki, sorry didn t know that only English was required here.
No problem, will continue in English now.

Yeap, +/- 10 days out of ops.

No extra planes needed.

Back-up will be provided by PEGASUS Airlines.

They did already some wet-lease in when required due to extra flights (due to SLR Bankruptcy).

Greets,

TCW.

Dear,

The repair is rather small.

Only some replacements of elevators or repairs ?
An extra structural inspection by Airbus is required on the stabilizer + right wing + spars.

We took Sabena Technics in stead off LHT (Lufthansa Technics)
due to the fact that Sabena Technics will have more manpower
available and back-shops to perform repairs/replacement of
parts (elevator, aileron).

SNT has also more experience in this kind of repairs then LHT BRU.

A team of Airbus will perform on thursday or friday, depending on availability, a structural inspection of the damaged parts and surrounding
zones, areas.

Estimated downtime (TAT) : 10 days

I saw the 2 DHL 727s at Pier C when coming back from FRA on 23 Feb. I was wondering what they were doing there. Out of business after replacement by 757s?

Good news that the damage is not that important.

The questions raises again if such manoeuvres should be allowed to be done by only one person. In this case a second person in the cockpit could have hit the brakes immediately.

Yep, that'll be a nice one for them. I suppose the guilty employee will be severly reprimanded (or fired for gross negligence)

ciao,
TriStar

P.S.: Welcome aboard ThomasCook :!:
