And yet, that is exactly where the new railroad from the airport to Mechelen will be...It's like the dream in Belgium to place railroads on the verge in the middle of the highways , that project never really took off.

As per mail received from EVP Sales & Marketing before activation of www.cargob.com site, at this moment they are collecting and reviewing all applications and will get back to applicants by the end of March or early April to advise them where they stand.Tjurven wrote:if i understand, at this moment there is not yet a website available with jobs?
It's early i know, but the jobmarket is not a easy market! only the fast people survive!
Good luck to all interested "to fill the BRU gap" with this team.

A very interesting article about Cargo B http://www.cargob.com/admin/inschrijvin ... ews/10.pdf
Highlights:
- Focus on Africa and South-America (with possible destinations: Lagos, Libbreville, Johannesburg, Sao Paolo, Quito and Bogota)
- No flights to Asia, because too much competition
- B744F could be joining the fleet in the future as an expansion, not replacement.

The first airplane will join the fleet half September, followed by a second one in October and a third in April 2008.
The first routes seem to be confirmed:

I think that's the choise of the pilots itselfs. Aviation is not to pleased an other. Its a hard business, every single day.Darjeeling wrote:CargoB pumps a LOT of experienced SN pilots (TRI/TRE/Tech pilots)
Not good for b.air I'm afraid.
I think we have to be glad with this new company. A clear vision, very good partners, a good business plan and they know what they want and more important what they not want. They want to fly where there is a huge gap at this moment.

Excellent news !
The Flemish press today has announced that Cargo-B Airlines has signed a contract with three major investors:
www.petercam.be
www.pmvlaanderen.be
www.qatinvestments.com
Story from Belgium's most reliable (Dutch) financial newspaper:
http://www.tijd.be/nieuws/artikel.asp?I ... 19&sR=true
I'm not going to translate the financial info - just what's interested for most of us here:
- an Irish lease company, founded by Petercam, will rent (trust it's lease) three B747-200's to Cargo B Airlines
- Dirk Vrebos, COO, confirms that they will start JNB in September 2007.
- some weeks later: second plane for South America
- by April 2008, staff should be 120 (mainly pilots)
(off topic: the same article ends, without details with: meanwhile, it seems it's over and out for BEAP Cargo)
