SWISS sets national air transport record

Swiss International Air Lines this week welcomed aboard the 15 millionth passenger of the year, improving significantly on the previous record of 14,168,718 passengers set in 2010. In surpassing the 15-million-passenger mark SWISS not only established its own new all-time high but also set a new national record in the field of civil aviation. In 2011 SWISS carried more passengers in a single year than any other Swiss airline in the country’s history.

In other words, it means that SWISS has carried more passengers this year than Swissair in any year in the past.

Brussels Airlines has still a long way to go to beat Sabena's record in Belgium...
