Virgin America is an airline I always wanted to try out once! When hearing that a merger was going on with Alaska Airlines I had to fly them at least once! So the reason for this weekend trip to the US of A especially to fly Virgin America.

Total score: 80%
It was nice first expercience with Virgin America! From the super ambient check in to the nice and fresh planes! Very comfortable seating and enough IFE options for this short flight to Los Angeles! I liked the Catering on demand concept but do order before the first service run! Otherwise you'll have to be fast as you'll get your order on descent. In overall I was very happy to log Virgin America on this flight! More to come...

After a very impressive flight from San Francisco to Los Angeles it was time to try out Virgin America on a longer flight! So we booked a transcon to Newark!

Total score: 83%
Great to have flown Virgin America on a short and longer flight. This transcon flight did not dissapoint me neither! from a very nice lounge with good views in Los Angeles to another clean, fresh and comfortable plane. Crew on this flight was very comfortable. Catering and inflight entertainment where more than sufficient as well. In overall I had a another great flight with Virgin America and its sorry to see them dissapear as they are miles ahead of the rest..! This trip was each Eurocent worth it...

Nice videos! Both yours and the IFE which looks superior to all what I have seen. And nice views of Vegas and the Grand Canyon too.

Ordering food and drinks through the IFE also beats anything I've seen! Are the screens multilingual or English only?

Still surprised to see them fly transcontinental with narrow-bodies.

What a pity that VA will disappear by merging into AS. Against the will of Sir Richard Branson. But the US law says that a foreigner can own no more than 25% of a US airlines, so he had to bend to the decision of the other shareholders who owned 75%... A shame!

Thanks André

The views where spectacular
I believe you could select Spanish as well, not so sure however

Yes VA only has 320/319 (and 1 321), However with the aminities onboard I did not suffer from any discomfort on being 5 hours on a A320...

Indeed Pity they are going!
