But you don't need to eat! You need to fly! ;)

The cognac and the Cuban cigar in the first class lounge on the upper deck of the Sabena 747-200 BRU-JFK (if you wonder: no, I didn't eat the cigar: it was still allowed to smoke on planes in that time. And yes, it was an upgrade)

As a not-so-frequent-traveller I have the best memories at the fresh koffiekoeken on board the morning ANR-LCY flights when it was still flown by VLM.
The worst: the pasta in flex&fast on a SN flight GVA-BRU.

My worst must have been a "rice in its cooking water" breakfast on some Chinese domestic flight. It was worse than FR's "nothing"!

Cheers,

My worst food must have been the sandwich in Vietnam Airlines. OMG they only include cold ham and mayonnaise that makes me feel vomiting. Terrible experience, unfortunately that is the most popular airlines in that country.

Worst inflight "food" (this does not include the muck served up on Air New Zealand as I didn't take photos of that glop):

Image
This offering on bmi in 2007 was supposedly a cheese sandwich. What it actually contained was disgusting dark "bread" coated with sweet mincemeat (the kind which goes into British mincepies at Christmas) and vulcanised rubber masquerading as "cheese". Truly vile.

Image
The beef salad bloomer, again on bmi. Soggy doughy "bread" which stuck to my fingers, and processed "beef".

Image
The SNBA Modgebox. This contained a "peach lattice" which was not remotely peachy and contained huge apple pips.

Now for the nice ones:

Image
This is a breakfast on SNBA. A ginger bun and a cheese sandwich.

Image
A cold bacon sandwich on VLM.

Image
A hot sausage, tomato and egg panini on a BA Domestic service early morning flight. This was good service for such a short hop!

Image
Chicken tikka wrap on British Airways.

Image
bmi eventually improved their catering. This is a cheese and spring onion wrap. I like wraps and I like cheese and onion

Image
Egg and cress sandwich on bmi.

Image
Hot cheese, ham, mushroom and tomato pizza on Lufthansa.

Image
I enjoyed the gouda and rocket sandwich, I didn't eat the other one. Lufthansa.

Image
Soft cheese and tomato relish on a croissant, British Airways inflight breakfast 2016.

Image
Pastrami, gherkin and cheese sandwich and a cinnamon muffin, British Airways 2016.

I also had nice food on Sabena.

worst:
food poisoning with Alitalia.

Best?
I share the 747 upper deck experience with an AF flight between BKK and SGN , including cigar :)

And I do agree with the BMI panini as a nice surprise on such short flights.

sorry to be so simple: mash & bangers with BA. Yummy.

Worst: an unnamable sandwich on Thai Smile a few weeks ago UTH-BKK on my way to BRU.
No, i did not eat it, went to the bin after opening and smelling the thing.

Best: to come next Saturday BRU-DOH-BKK on QR, never had a bad meal in J.
Ramadan begins this Saturday, no alcohol in Doha, I will get my share inflight....
Qr serves Piper Heidsieck Rosé Brut Sauvage Champage, my preferred champagne!
