[PICS] Day trip to Vilnius with LOT (BRU-WAW-VNO-WAW-BRU)

Post by sn26567 »

I had found out that it was possible to spend several hours visiting the Lithuanian capital by flying with LOT via Warsaw at reasonable prices. I didn't hesitate and booked the flights.

When I checked in by Internet the day before the flight, I saw that I had been given aisle seats on all 4 flights and most seats had been allocated. I still managed to get window seats on 3 flights, but not on the 4th one. Not too much of problem for a flight after sunset.

Flight: LOT Polish Airlines LO232
Date : 20/01/2017
Aircraft: Embraer E175LR SP-LIL
From-To: Brussels - Warsaw(BRU-WAW)
Seat: 18D (Window)
Scheduled/Effective Time of Departure: 07:50/07:49 (GMT+1)
Scheduled/Effective Time of Arrival: 09:50/10:07 (GMT+1)
Scheduled/Effective Duration of the flight: 2 hr 0 min/2 hr 18 min

Some additional information: the load factor was 90%. The only problem was the non-acceptance of my credit card for the payment of the buy-on-board breakfast (in spite of the mention on the menu).

On arrival in Warsaw the plane went to Gate 15, had to wait 5 minutes before a cleaning truck removed the molten snow accumulated on the tarmac in front of the gate, and then stopped short of the boarding bridge, good for a bus trip!

Some additional information: the load factor was 80%. There was no explanation for the delay (a little more than one hour on arrival, shortening my visit to the city by that amount of time. Luckily the bus ride to the city is short).

Some additional information: the load factor was 100%. Fortunately, the scheduled Q400 turboprop had been replaced by an E170 jet, thus reducing the trip length enough to enable me to make the connection in Warsaw. You imagine: an announced delay of 30 minutes and only 35 minutes connection time! Nevertheless, LOT dispatched a minibus to allow me and another passenger to make it.

Some additional information: the load factor was 90%. And despite a slightly delayed departure, on-time arrival. No picture of my buy-on-board meal: a ham sandwich and a glass of red wine, together with the same free chocolate bar and water.

Interesting report and nice photos  I look forward to my first visit to WAW in September, hoping I can see a few more LOT planes than I did in KRK last year.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.
