cheapest way to fly BRU-ORD-LAS-ORD-BRU

Post by MD-11er »

Hello,

Can somebody help me to find out what the cheapest way is to fly the following route:

Would like to go to LAS from BRU but would like to stop for a couple of days in ORD on my return flight.

For example:

30 March: BRU-LAS via ORD and/ or any port in Europe.
7 April: LAS-ORD
9 April: ORD- BRU.

Can anybody tell me what he found the cheapest route is.
Oh yes as I am a OneWorld frequent flyer, OneWorld members are better for me to buy my tickets, but any other info is always welcome.

MD-11er

On those dates (30 Mar/7-9 Apr 2005), including the stopover in ORD (which you can always do without paying extra), AA is cheaper:

553.3 EUR
Economy Class
Restrictions apply

12:05 Brussels
13:00 Chicago O'hare
American Airlines
AA 89/SN 8001

14:53 Chicago O'hare
16:54 Las Vegas Nevada
American Airlines
AA 1243/SN 8233

11:12 Las Vegas Nevada
16:44 Chicago O'hare
American Airlines
AA 1582/SN 8234

17:40 Chicago O'hare
08:45 Brussels(J+1)
American Airlines
AA 88/SN 8002

(SN is exactly 20.00 EUR more expensive for the very same flights!).

André: I'm pretty sure that AA will ask a 75EUR fee for a stopover in ORD.

UA must be a bit more flexible, because, after looking up availability in a CRS, I entered this itinerary at www.unitedairlines.be, and their online reservation tool quoted me the €562.

AA don't have an online booking engine yet (at least for Belgium), so we can't try it out.

Hi Fred,

Any news about a OneWorld Alliance Member. As UA is Star Alliance :?

What about BA, IB, EI, AY, QF, CX,...

I know you always manage to find out the best prices and in a Class where I can add some miles. When I will be back from SYD I will be Silver QF FF member, that is compared to Ruby within the OneWorld Alliance.

I probably won't take SNBA as they are not recognised by QF.
AA is and that for the same price and even more, to be seated in the same ac

Can you also tell me where you can find out what the booking is of the flights and in which class you buy your ticket. I don't mean Economy or Business Class but if it's a O,P,Q,R,... Class ticket.
As I check a lot on www.amadeus.net but they only give you the type of ac.

Hi Chris,

Geeze you can ask difficult questions ;) Why not expand your horizon to Star Alliance? ;)

You seem to fly so much lately that you can easily justifie both a Star Alliance and a OneWorld account!

Serious now:
What about BA, IB, EI, AY, QF, CX,...
CX? You want to fly to ORD and LAS via HKG?

BA is impossible because they route their LAS-services via LAX and SFO.

All the other airlines you mention are not possible, you will have to do it with AA if you want to fly OneWorld!

AA quotes me 720USD for the trip you want to make. It's up to you now: go for the frequent flier miles (does AA offer full mileage on cheaper booking classes like this one?) or go for the price (UA).
Can you also tell me where you can find out what the booking is of the flights and in which class you buy your ticket.
For booking classes: I find the 'flexible dates'-search of www.travelocity.com quite good.

To check availability: www.airtravel.tk is an option. There is another tool, but it's only up 6-7 hours a day. Airtravel.tk is available 24h a day.

Hi Fred thanks,

I don't see much difference in price as 720 USD = 576 EUR so it's alittle more expansive but I will have my miles 8)

With my miles from my tour downunder + a BRU-ORD-LAS that will be a lot of miles already.

Are you sure it isn't possible to book BRU-LHR-ORD with BA and to continue on AA to LAS for a cheap price. You know how we think about BA.

I found

for $725.50 on AA (currently close to €590)

12:05 pm Depart Brussels (BRU)
Arrive Las Vegas (LAS) 4:54 pm Wed 30-Mar
Duration: 13hr 49mn American Airlines 89 / 1243
Connect in Chicago (ORD)

8:35 am Depart Las Vegas (LAS)
Arrive Chicago (ORD) 2:00 pm Thu 7-Apr
Duration: 3hr 25mn American Airlines 1496

For about 20 dollars more you can have the first leg BRU-LHR-ORD-LAS with BRU-LHR on BAW.
