CAT forecast over the North Atlantic
CAT forecast over the North Atlantic
[Hello to all, I am from Mexico and I will be traveling to Frankfurt this July. I want to ask all of you aviation enthusiasts if there is a web-page were I can check the "clear air turbulence forecast" for the north atlantic routes. Even though I am a private pilot I do have a hard time when I am not in control of an aircraft and I dont enjoy turbulence at all.
Welcome to Luchtzak Flyingcow. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay over here.
As for your request, well.... I only found this site: http://orbit-net.nesdis.noaa.gov/goes/a ... _loop.html but it only covers the USA. Will try to see if I can find a more appropriate one.
Ciao

CAT is a very dangerous phenomena as its invisible. When your seatbelt isn't fastened in the worst scenario U even can get killed.
A very wise decision for all pilots is to check out the forecasted Significant Weather Charts (SWC) which must be given by MET providers to them in preparation on their flight.
Avro was close in giving a link.
The same link has in fact all fields in the world of forecasted CAT.
This one is for the Atlantic.
But for accurate and correct info please check your local MET provider in the Mexico.
