FCO-VIE with AZ aboard the new Embraer-170!

Post by IL62M »

Hi everybody .Just came back from a trip to Italy and Austria. I had the great plaesure of travelling aborad the new Embraer-170 aircraft, the only one of Alitalia. I was sceptical at first, because there was so much hype surrounding the Embraer-170, but all my doybts were washed away really quick after bowrding the new aircraft.

The plane is named "Via Appia"which as I was told is one central road in Rome, has 72 seats in a 2-2 Configuration. It is well build and the interior, as anybody who has flown the Embaer-145 can testify resembles past decades, but in a very artsy, well done matter. The seats are very comfortable for a regional aircraft with enough legspace even for the tall ones (i myself am about 1, 85 ).Those big windows are really a breath of fresh air, when considering the small windows of other regional airliners. The most impressive feature of the new airplane though,is how quiet it is. Those two powerful engines ,really made my day on that flight! In fact I have never flown an aircraft so quiet. The take off and landings where really smooth and the whole epxerience was really entertaining.

All in all a great Aircraft from a great Manufacturer and a flight really worth doing it.

Wow! You were very lucky to fly aboard an EMB-170!

 Does anyone know who makes the engines on the Embraer 170?

It's General Electric with the GE CF34 model.
