A ride on Niki Lauda's new airline

Post by Jumbolino »

Well to keep it short I provide you a lot of pic's I have taken during this short trip yesterday, from leaving my home town until tochdown in Zurich.
Well it wasn't the inauguration flight but the second after and so the price for the return trip was more than promotional - whopping 78 EUR inkl. taxes and inclusive food !!!!!! (except for alcohol you have to pay, but non alcoholic drinks as well as tea, coffee and of course FOOD are free ....)
Unfortunatly a lot of the pic's are taken from behind the windows and it seems that they (Airport vienna as well as Niki) don't clean them too often
Image
nice advertisment on my way to the bus
Image
Image
after arrival I checked in for the NIKI flight in the OS sector - checkin is done by Austrian and received this
Image
afterwards I decided that it's time for a lunch as well as for some pic's (from the restaurant you have a good view)

this pic is even worse but it's an unknown bird - or better first time I saw a VBird :-)
Image
Image
quite busy Vienna international yesterday
Image
also a worse pic but maybe the last change to take one :(
Image
Image
Image
after this a couple from japan liked to take a pic from me - I'm quite sure they thought how crazy europeans are ;-)
Image
Austrian time
Image
while waiting for bording (done by< bus I took a few other pics
Image
and while the bus carried us around I could clearly see our plane
Image
Image
*uffz* the busdriver let us go outside !
Image
Image
Image
Image
next to us an austrian error is waiting for pax which doesn't like food ;-)
Image
others even a Jumbolino around (after decollage I saw also an SN BA avro waiting for BRU
Image
that's an Lauda plane which isn't Lauda any more ;-)
Image
often seen guest in Vienna waiting for their pax to Kiev
Image
more from our plane
Image
and a car
Image
while all others waiting on the stairs I took a pic from them ;-)
Image
and a funny sticker onto the stairs
Image
while waiting for a - being always late - pax oh ton "nehm' ma die noch mit ?"
Image
Image
inside the plane
Image
and outside again
Image
nice sandwich Niki provided for his pax
Image
salami (dead donkey) or chicken - but nothing for people which say "don't eat dead animal's" ;-) ok the mousse au chocolate afterwards would be something (and short before touch down the steward came twice and third with mousse ...)
Image
Image
(two euros for the beer, everything else was FREE of charge)
Image
time to take a pic outside
Image
Image
Image
inflight entertainment
Image
the mentioned mousse au chocolate (with cherries)
Image
and a pic from me myself inflight short time before touchdown in ZRH
Image
hot but cloudy weather over Schaffhausen (short time after)
Image
and the late evening sun
Image
Image
remembered me to the year 2000 and Air Littoral where we frequently used this route short time before touchdown in ZRH
and an little AVI
but I was so silly and held the cam the wrong way so I took another video from the video :(

Jumbolino - very interesting report, especially the pictures! Unfortunately the pictures in the bottom part of your report are not working, but the others are great. Vienna looks a nice airport.
Sabena and Sobelair - gone but never forgotten.

Jumbolino, that's a nice report, with lovely pics (especially the ones with the colourful tails against a blue sky!)

We are going to try and get the rest of your photos downloaded later as it's now our Chocolate Time (Yummy!!) :) :) :)

Very nice report Jumbolino.

You where lucky you saw the VBird. This week is the last week that PH-BMC flies for VBird. Next week the plane will be painted in Dutchbird colours again and start operating flights for dutchbird again.

Best Regards,
Yvo

Yvo, the bad thing was that the pic is that worse,
but threw the window with heavy zoom ....
it didn´t work better :(
although I beat more that the Alitalia plane maybe was my last chance but it seems that they are rescued - for the time being ;-)

@Chris - and I estimate, that you understand it, too ?
it's a hard hint that the people shouldn't believe in the OS ad's anymore ;-)

yes, the service was indeed very good, although they had nothing for vegetarian, or people which should not eat meat due to other reasons, both didn't bother me and it was tasteful ;-)
