Which airline to take to CAI?

Post by TWA »

I have a question for you guys.

On 28/08/05 I'm leaving to CAI with a return on 04 or 05/09/05.

Tui's Jetonly offers a cheap fare of 198 euro return tax incl (via LXR) on B737-400 or -800

AF offers (on luchtvaartnieuws.nl) an 370 euro fare tax incl on thalys and B772.

No legroom is a real nightmare for me ( I am 1m82 tall) especially on flights above 2 hours.

Would you spend an extra 170 euro to fly AF iso tui??
Do you know if TUI offers IFE for the 6 hours OB-flight??

PS: AF is the second best option after TUI as other companies charge 450 euro return!

Thx for your wise advice. TWA

Hi TWA,

I flew with TUI to Cairo 2 weeks ago and returned 1 week ago.

If I had the choice between:

AF
Paying 370€
Standing in line in Brussels South Station
Checking in in Brussels South Station
Carrying your luggage in Brussels South Station
Spending 1:20 in a Thalys
Carrying your luggage in CDG for miles
Standing in line in CDG
Checking in your luggage in CDG
Flying!

or TUB
Paying 198€
Standing in line in BRU
Checking in in BRU
Flying!

My choice would be easily made!

Yes, you have to pay for alcohol on TUB. Yes the pitch on TUB is small, but I'm 1.85m and I survived.

Kind regards,

Stij

P.S. TUB only stopped in Luxor on the return flight.
P.S.S. For AF-fans, I LOVE to fly with AF, but I hate the whole Thalys + luggage thing, but that was probably already clear. ;-)
P.S.S. Forgot to mention, no IFE on TUB!

AF offers (on luchtvaartnieuws.nl) an 370 euro fare tax incl on thalys and B772.
I don't know what exactly you've seen on luchtvaartnieuws.nl, but this fare certainly isn't available during the period you are travelling.

MA often offers good fares to destinations like CAI/ATH/... from BRU. That's why I just checked their website, and I found a fare of 328 EUR all-in (except for the 10 EUR ticketing fee).

But... the difference is more than 100 EUR of course, and with the money you save, I'd do something nice in CAI!

I would support a "Belgian" airline and fly TUB (especcially if they offer the cheapest fare)

But tha again, you don't have to follow my advise since I hardly ever fly a belgian airline...

Is this TUI service to CAI a scheduled or charter service?

Yes Egyptair have 2x weekly flights.

One routes CAI-BRU-CAI (MS725/726)
Second routes CAI-LXR-BRU-LXR-CAI (MS743/744)

They use A320s and A300s
