Again, how ridiculous! :mrgreen: :lol: What is short about 1940m for a B737? Except if it would be at altitude 6365' but that's not how I read it. And then again totally unneeded capitalisation... Please keep up a bit of dignity! This is not YOUR DAILY RAG !!!!

wouldn't be so sure of that...
* B737-800
* CGH-GIG which is a short 45min. flight (luckily, as we're talking rwy performance)
* CGH airport altitude 2631ft
* weight (& balance) estimate:
- operational empty: 42T
- 160 pob + luggage: 16T
- fuel: let's say 7T to give an easy total of 65T operational t/o weight

Let's have a look at the perf. chart, ISA+15:
738 CFM56-7B26.jpg
The weather didn't really look as ISA+15, and the plane might have been somewhat lighter, but anyway, that's coming pretty close to the max. available rwy....

Appreciate your comments Jan... but less than 2000m for a 737-800 with full pax load is short...
You should know by now that I don't post things if they're not accurate... in fact you hear the Captain saying it himself that he needs ever foot of the runway and when you see the pilotsview video you will see they do use the entire runway...
I decided to stop posting videos here as it seems to be the only place I get these kinds of comments... but now I tried again and its only been 2 days and the comments are back :) Oh well...

Ok, ok, I admit I was a bit grumpy when I wrote that. Still, the title is so overblown. Had you titled "B737 uses all runway" I'd probably not even have noticed. With the present title, plus the totally unneeded capitals, it looks like a headline in an English tabloid, and I'd like to have a better opinion of this forum.

But do keep on posting, I am sure there is an audience for those videos. No need to stop for one grumpy guy who prefers piloting over looking at others piloting!

In fact our next film release this weekend features a Belgian airline and all women in the cockpit. Great stuff!
