11.8% growth for SN + record of best ever day on top!
Brussels Airlines reported double digit growth figures over September:
https://www.aviation24.be/airlines_press_r ... assengers/
Equally noteworthy is the fact that Brussels Airlines also had its best day ever in 13 years of existence, when on the 9th of September 27,394 passengers flew on one of the airlines' many flights.

It's really becoming routine for SN to be amongst Europe's fastest growing airlines month after month, comfortably beating a whole bunch of lower rated, no service carriers.

Since the number of passengers at Brussels Airport increased only by 4.1% in September, Brussels Airlines again increased its market share at BRU.

Brussels Airlines : +11,8%; LF 79,3%; 0,745m paxtolipanebas wrote:It's really becoming routine for SN to be amongst Europe's fastest growing airlines month after month, comfortably beating a whole bunch of lower rated, no service carriers.
Wizz Air : + 22%; LF 90,9%; 1,813m pax
EasyJet : + 7,6%; LF 93,1%; 6,610m pax
Ryanair : + 12%; LF 94%; 9,55m pax
Norwegian : + 9%; LF 88,2%; 2,435m pax
Brussels Airlines has the lowest LF and the lowest number of passengers; its percentage of increase is just average. I wouldn't call that "comfortably beating" its competitors.
IF IT AIN'T BOEING, I'M NOT GOING.

When they stop this attitude maybe? Have you ever seen an advertisement where delhaize calls colruyt low rated no service?tolipanebas wrote:Brussels Airlines comfortably beating a whole bunch of lower rated, no service carriers.

Neither does SN, do they?sean1982 wrote:When they stop this attitude maybe? Have you ever seen an advertisement where delhaize calls colruyt low rated no service?tolipanebas wrote:Brussels Airlines comfortably beating a whole bunch of lower rated, no service carriers.
I can imagine some Delhaize coworkers consider Colruyt in the same manner Tolipanebas does...

Good job, certainly. But don't let's think that the SN problems are over for good ......nordikcam wrote: Very good job for SN !
“In the absence of any unforeseen shock, the next 12 to 18 months - with the combination of low fuel prices, low finance costs - most airlines will look like they are geniuses run by management gurus until oil prices tick back up again and [then], as Warren Buffett said, you will see who is swimming naked and who’s wearing trunks.”

Very nice growth figures once again.
As to the side discussion:
Their monthly growth figures ARE undisputable above those of a lot the traditionally fast growing airlines from the low cost camp, so I wonder why its so controversial if such is pointed out explicitly?
Especially as 'rubbing it in' is a communication method not exactly unknown to some of those airlines.
Another final question: they don't explicitly mention it, but it seems to me they may never have flown more passengers in a single month than in September either, at just under 3/4 of a million.
Its really from record to record these days: amazing commercial performance.

Is this growth trend goin to be the same for Oct./Nov./Dec.? Who wants to bet on that?
Re: 11.8% growth for SN + record of best ever day on top!
As I mentioned elsewhere, SN expects 7.3 to 7.4 million guests by the end of the year, hence, yes, they expect this trend to continue until year end.brusselsairlinesfan wrote:Is this growth trend going to be the same for Oct./Nov./Dec.?
And even next year with 8 million passengers.

I think SN is doing very well considering the competition they are dealing with.
And yes, a bit of chauvinisme never hurts.
Keep up the good work.

How many passengers did SABENA handle in 2000 and 2001? Just to compare...
Re: 11.8% growth for SN + record of best ever day on top!
10.034.000 in 1999, according to several news sites from that time, that I found... It was noted that it was the first time ever Sabena surpassed the 10 million passengers mark. I guess with Euro 2000 a year later, the company surpassed that number again...brusselsairlinesfan wrote:How many passengers did SABENA handle in 2000 and 2001? Just to compare...
