Wizz Air Ukraine adjusts capacity

WIZZ AIR UKRAINE MAKES FURTHER CAPACITY ADJUSTMENTS

Wizz Air Ukraine today announces further adjustments to its network and capacity, in response to the continued low travel demand on Ukraine routes and weaker currency. The planned opening of the Lviv base on 30 April has now been deferred until the market normalises. As a consequence the 6 new routes scheduled to start operating from Lviv to Barcelona Girona, Naples, Kutaisi, Tel Aviv, Rome Fiumicino and Valencia have been temporarily suspended. Existing Lviv services to Dortmund, Milan and Venice Treviso will continue to operate. The two Kiev services to Sofia and Vilnius and the Kharkov service to Kutaisi have also been temporarily suspended.

WIZZ AIR UKRAINE’S CAPACITY ADJUSTMENTS

SUSPENDED ROUTES

Lviv – Barcelona Girona 30 Apr
Lviv – Naples 30 Apr
Lviv – Kutaisi 1 May
Lviv – Tel Aviv 3 May
Lviv – Rome Fiumicino 3 May
Lviv – Valencia 2 May
Kharkov - Kutaisi 1 May
Kiev – Sofia 2 May
Kiev - Vilnius 30 Apr

Customers with bookings affected by the temporary suspensions are being contacted by Wizz Air Ukraine and offered a full refund.

Akos Bus, Director General of Wizz Air Ukraine, said: "Wizz Air Ukraine remains committed to providing low cost fares to Ukrainian travellers. We observe a significant drop in demand for travel on Ukraine routes and we hope these changes in travel behaviour are temporary and will return to normal when consumer confidence is restored. Meanwhile we must react by adjusting our network offer and our capacity. While we are deferring our base opening in Lviv and adjusting some Kiev and Kharkov services we remain focused on consistently delivering low fares on our remaining 16 Ukraine routes. As soon as we see demand which supports additional growth, we will proceed with appropriate capacity enhancements. The adjustments announced today are temporary and we aim to restore our original growth plan as soon as possible."
