Vueling launches direct flights from Brussels to Rome

From Brussels , it is now possible to fly to the entire Mediterranean area in an affordable way through the Vueling hubs in Barcelona (Western Mediterranean) and Rome ( Eastern Mediterranean) .

The Spanish airline opens this Thursday, April 17, the first of seven new direct from Brussels ... Rome ! Through direct daily service to Rome Fiumicino ( FCO) - first Vueling route to Italy from Brussels, the Belgian travellers will not only enjoy the Dolce Vita in the city of love, but they will also have the opportunity to discover other cities of the eastern Mediterranean. With a network covering 122 destinations Vueling offers its travellers an alternative of choice at affordable prices.

Since the beginning of 2014, the Rome-Fiumicino hub is the second of the Vueling network, after Barcelona. The Italian capital is indeed connected with no less than 33 cities, mostly European. Belgian travellers may, from April 17 and through a visit to Rome, take a connecting Vueling flight towards southern cities such as Dubrovnik, Athens and Mykonos, in the eastern Mediterranean. The Roman network so perfectly complements the range of destinations available via Barcelona, ​​mainly located on the western side of the Mediterranean, with cities such as Lanzarote, Casablanca, Algiers and Dakar (from June 2014).

Affordable travel to the Mediterranean
With the new hub in Rome, Vueling is the only lowcost company whose network covers the whole of the Mediterranean via connexions in Barcelona or Rome. From 17 April, the Belgian travellers will be able to fully enjoy the wide range that fits as an alternative to direct flights, often expensive.

From May, Vueling will offer daily direct flights to Barcelona (four flights per day), Rome-Fiumicino, Venice and Lisbon. Five times a week, Vueling will fly from Brussels Airport to Valencia, Malaga and Alicante, four times a week to Ibiza and Porto and three times a week to Santiago de Compostela and Palma de Mallorca. With these 11 direct destinations from Brussels Vueling aspires in the summer of 2014 to an increase of 105% compared to last summer, more than 688,800 seats.
